Somatické frazémy v turečtině a češtině / Somatic Phrasemes in Turkish and Czech

Michálková, Kateřina January 2019 (has links)
This master thesis deals with "somatisms" (i.e. names of human body parts) in language. It uses the example of two distant and unrelated languages - Czech and Turkish - to explore conceptualization of human body and its parts in phraseology, and possible differences that may occur across languages and cultures. This thesis consists of two key parts: a quantitative comparison and a qualitative comparison. In the first part, the frequency of individual somatisms and respective words is measured and compared in phraseology of both languages. The second part is a qualitative analysis of head - the most frequent somatism in both Czech and Turkish. The analysis and comparison are based on the perspective of cognitive linguistics, more specifically on the approach called "linguistic picture of the world" and related "profile theory".

Kuželová, Jana January 2012 (has links)
and key words The aim of this final thesis is to compare the Czech and Swedish idiomatic expressions, which include words related to the human body. Using the list of idiomatic expressions generated from the available phraseological dictionaries and other literature and subsequently tracing Czech equivalents, it is mainly focused on the degree of equivalence of somatic idioms in these two languages. The theoretical part is devoted to phraseology as a linguistic discipline, differences in the conception and definition of the idiom in Czech and Swedish and it also defines the types of equivalence used in the practical part. The practical part is in addition to the above mentioned equivalence focused on the frequency of use of the individual parts of a human body contained in the collected sample of idioms, their classification and equivalence. It also deals with several groups of idioms and demonstrates the differences in their perceptions. Marginally it devotes to the etymology of some selected terms. Key words: Czech, Swedish, human body, phraseology, idiom, equivalence, etymology

Perničková, Andrea January 2016 (has links)
The objective of this study was to monitor the growing intensity of the bulls of Czech Fleckvieh with subsequent evaluation of the quality of the carcass in a selected company in the Vysočina. There have been monitoring in the years 2011-2014 these indicators and inter-annual results: bulls housed an average of 293 pieces, increases amounted to an average of 35580,76 kilograms in total, concentrated feed consumption averaged 2,66 kg per ks.den-1, concentrated feed consumption was of average 94667 kg total, average growth per day feeding 0,99 kg, feed consumption per kg of growth reached an average of 2,89 kg, an average of 94 bulls were sent to slaughter, with a total weight of 58,987 kg and the average slaughter weight amounted to 633,2 kg. Finally, evaluate the effect weight was 266 bulls for carcass quality, the average slaughter weight amounted to 715,4 kg. As an indicator was chosen carcase weight, which amounted an average of 401,9 kg. Furthermore, the average daily gain these monitored bulls amounted 0,985 kg, and the average age at slaughter was 23 months. Another indicator of the level of conformation, which assigned a point value system amounted 3,42. The degree of fat cover, which in the allotted scoring average value amounted 2,12. Average entry into the class SEUROP these bulls was U2. To evaluate the influence of slaughter weight of bulls on selected indicators of meat production was observed positive effect of increasing slaughter weight of bulls for carcass weight and conformation level carcasses. Fat cover of carcases different slaughter weights were not negatively affected. An interesting finding was a higher average daily gain of bulls slaughtered at higher weights. This indicates good genetic potential of animals on its suitability for fattening to slaughter weight higher, while achieving higher quality carcass (SEUROP favorable classification system and the higher financial profit for slaughter animal). In the company will still need to optimize ration, mainly to enhance the quality roughage feed.

Tělo a hřích. Jeden z obrazů ženy v mravokárné literatuře raného novověku / The body and the sin. One of a woman{\crq}s image in the moralist literature in the early modern period

VÁŇOVÁ, Gabriela January 2009 (has links)
The body and the sin. One of a woman{\crq}s image in the moralist literature in the early modern period Annotation The diploma work is aimed at an early modern woman seen from the moralist authors´view. The work ranks among the contributions connected with gender roles research in the society of the studied period. The sources that it takes on come from the 16th and 17th centuries and they are aimed against woman{\crq}s wickedness which were connected with woman{\crq}s carnality. The body as a tool of a trespass is represented as a connecting unit through the individual chapters and at the same time it work as the main symbol of the woman{\crq}s trespass. In connexion with the carnality the most feared sins are mentioned, such as pride, adultery or fornication. In additoin to these particular trespasses the moralist authors also pointed out possible snares or potential ways leading to the trespass, such as dance or a pure and simple woman{\crq}s glimpse. Even these opinions show it was very important to keep out women of ill fame because even a simple slander could raise doubts of everyone{\crq}s probity. The aim of the diploma work is an elucidation of images of women dominated in the society in the early modern period. The work should outline a certain bipolarity that is, in connexion wiht a women, evident in the moralist authors` writings. In this a woman of the early modern period was conceived either as a redeemer or on the other hand as a wicked woman whereas the main thought of the work elucidation of period opinions of a woman as a sinner is.

Ženský hlas ve vybrané americké próze / Representations of the Female Voice in US Prose Fiction

Landerová, Petra January 2016 (has links)
The present MA thesis explores the concept of a female body and voice and their transformations as presented by various American writers. The chosen male authored works include Washington Square by Henry James, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway, and The Crying of Lot 49 by Thomas Pynchon, for these writers delineate their heroines Catherine Sloper, Lady Brett Ashley, and Oedipa Maas in a turbulent period of their lives when they attempt to break with the obsolescent roles of passive and obedient daughters, partners, and wives. These fictional agents use different kinds of resistance, but as women, they are, nevertheless, mediated through the dominant male and masculine discourse that pervades the fictionalized societies in which these female agents appear. As for fictional work by female writers, without the assumption that the gender of the writer makes any literary work more or less "feminine", I have chosen The Awakening by Kate Chopin, The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton, a short-story "Good Country People" by Flannery O'Connor, and Blood and Guts in High School by Kathy Acker. The female heroines of the selected literary works bear a number of traumas women have had to endure under the patriarchal order and this thesis will address those traumas, their manifestation in the female psyche, and how...

Oko básníka: Antické figury v díle Jeana Cocteaua / The eye of a poet: Antique figures in the work of Jean Cocteau

Wittlichová, Julie January 2016 (has links)
The thesis is concerned with the instances of the figures of mythology of the antiquity in the works of Jean Cocteau and their application. It focuses on the character of Narcissus, which is examined in connection to Oedipus and Orpheus, while concentrating mainly on the topic of mirroring and the related motives of the eye and sight. This mirroring is then not examined only on the level of an aesthetic object, but also in relation to the recipient and in mutual interferences between various media. The thesis is methodologically based on selected philosophical theses by Maurice Merlau-Ponty and the theoretical concepts of Pierre Brunel, Mieke Bal and Mary Ann Caws. Within the works of Jean Cocteau the thesis is primarily concerned with the analysis of the novels The Holy Terrors (Les Enfants Terribles), Le Livre Blanc and their illustrations, the poem "Tombeau de Narcisse", the play La Machine infernale and the films Blood of a Poet, Orpheus and The Testament of Orpheus.

Člověk a pohyb: status pohybů lidské existence v myšlení Jana Patočky / Human being and a movement: Status of the movements of human existence in the thinking of Jan Patočka

Nováková, Alžběta January 2016 (has links)
The work is focused on the evolution of Patočka's conception of movements of the human existence throughout his thoughts. My aim is to show sources of this conception, its explicite expressions and their structure and finally the meaning of this conception for the human life and its status in Patočka's whole-life philosophical project, all this by the analysis of three metodologically defined periods of Patočka's work. The inevitable past of this kind of rethinking of Patočka's conception is dealing with the question of succesion of his two great teachers, Edmund Husserl and Martin Heidegger, and showing, that his conception of movements of the human existence can't be explained simply from the polarity of uncritical bulilding on them, neither the complete refusing them. Also I would like to show the conceptional kinship with other thinkers of western philosophical tradition, whose selection is selective, but in my opinion meaningful. I also hope, that this rethinking of the conception of movements of the human existance will show the place, which belongs to Patočka's thougt in the western philosophical tradition and, first of all, it's meaning for human life. Key words Phenomenology, movement, existence, philosophy of history, authenticity
