Výroby závitů tvářecími závitníky / Production of threads with forming taps

Yermakov, Yegor January 2017 (has links)

Hydraulic Average of Multiple Tap Sets to Improve Performance of Venturi Flowmeters With Upstream Disturbance

Stauffer, Taylor 01 May 2019 (has links)
Venturi flowmeters have been used to measure flow in piped systems for over 100 years (Finnemore & Franzini, 2006). There has been much research on the performance of Venturi flowmeters and for that reason they have become popular flowmeters used in various municipal and industrial applications. Venturi flowmeters can be calibrated in a laboratory setting to find their performance characteristics. In order for the flowmeter to achieve optimum performance, the flowmeter should be installed with sufficient length of straight pipe immediately upstream of the flowmeter. Often Venturi flowmeters that are not installed in ideal conditions produce errors and uncertainty is introduced to the flow measurement. This study used multiple tap sets on Venturi flowmeters in order to reduce error and uncertainty when a Venturi flowmeter is installed in non-ideal conditions. The multiple taps sets were used to measure an average of the hydraulic pressure within the flowmeter.

Neutron skin measurement of tin isotopes

Glowa, Dominika Aleksandra January 2016 (has links)
Heavy atomic nuclei are thought to have proton and neutron radial distributions which have different extents. This difference is usually quantified in terms of a neutron skin (rnp), defined as the difference between the root mean square radii of the neutron and proton radial distributions (rnp = rn - rp). The nature, or even existence, of the neutron skin is currently not well established for many nuclei. Different nuclear theories give different predictions for the neutron skin thickness ranging for a typical heavy nucleus from 0.05 to 0.35 fm. Accurate measurement of the properties of the neutron skin would be a powerful constraint to differentiate between models of nuclear structure, improving our knowledge of the basic Equation Of State (EOS) for neutron rich matter. Particularly, the rate at which the neutron skin thickness changes across an isotopic chain of nuclei gives a tight constraint on the EOS and is also amenable to experimental determination with small systematic error. Improving our knowledge of the EOS for neutron rich matter is a crucial step towards gaining a deeper understanding of nuclear structure and nuclear matter in general. These results will also impact our knowledge of compact astrophysical objects such as neutron stars. This thesis describes the first measurement of neutron skin thicknesses along an isotopic chain using an electromagnetic probe. The neutron skin is measured through the study of the coherent photoproduction of neutral π mesons emitted from nuclei. This experiment was carried out in the A2 hall of the MAMI facility in Mainz, Germany in October 2012. The incident photon beam comprised of energy tagged photons in the range of Eγ=150-800 MeV with an intensity of 10⁸ photons per second. Experimental data was obtained for three different tin targets, 116Sn, 120Sn and 124Sn. The products from the resulting photoreactions were measured in the Crystal Ball detector and in the TAPS calorimeter systems, with track and particle identification information for charged particles provided by a multi wire proportional chamber (MWPC) and a particle identification detector (PID). The experiment provides the first information on the evolution of the neutron skin thickness along an isotopic chain using an electromagnetic probe. The results are compared with a range of theoretical models and previous data from strongly interacting probes. The new data will provide an important new experimental constraint on the basic properties of the EOS in atomic nuclei.

Výroby závitů závitníky / Production of threads with taps

Nasyrov, Ildar January 2017 (has links)
In the theoretical part of this thesis are described types of threads, methods of production and control of threads, types of taps, types of coatings and cutting fluids, analysis of specific cutting forces during thread cutting and theoretical analysis of the cross-section distribution by taps using. The experimental part of this thesis includes the production of internal threads by cutting tap at constant cutting conditions. The cutting time was measured according to the function of time during the experiment. The measured data were statistically processed and, as a result, the cost of one thread production was calculated.

Zvyšování řezivosti maticových závitníků pomocí PVD povlaků / On the increase of cutting performance of thread cutting taps with PVD coatings

Samešová, Zina January 2012 (has links)
This thesis, in its theoretical part deals with the process of cutting, abrasion-resistant layers properties and their contribution to increasing of cutting properties. The second part of the thesis is experimental. It aims to determine, compare and subsequently evaluate cutting properties of threading tools using matrix taps with different types of PVD coatings. During implementation of the experiment, constant cutting conditions have been ensured and the only variable was the different types of coating layers. Outcome of the experiment is measurement of cutting torques in relation on time and rate of wear of cutting tools.

This diploma thesis deals with HSS cutting taps performance in combination with very hard and tribological PVD coating application and their contribution to increasing of cutting properties. Then is described the mechanisms and forms of cutting tool wear. The goal of the experimental part of the thesis was determine, compare and subsequently evaluate cutting properties of threading tools using taps with different types of PVD coatings. During realization of the experiment, constant cutting conditions have been ensured and the only variable were the different types of coating layers. The result of the experiment was measurement of cutting torques depending on time and rate of wear of cutting tools. Measured value are statistically processed and drawn conclusion.
