This diploma thesis is about financing of terrorism and the countermeasures of the international community. First, the issue is described from a general perspective. The first half of the thesis deals with the definition of terrorism and general ways how terrorist groups finance themselves. The following part is a summary of the most important countermeasures at universal and regional levels. The second part deals with the case of the terrorist group ISIL. First, the development of the group and its financial resources are explained. In the final part there is a list of international measures against ISIL and, given the still ongoing development, so far limited evaluation of their effectiveness and how they could develop in the future. The aim of this thesis is to cexplain how ISIL obtains the necessary funding and what are currently international countermeasures.

The aim of this dissertation is to examine the process of securitization of terrorism, to develop the role of the audience (public) at the individual level and subsequently to provide recommendations on an alternative way of fighting terrorism. In order to achieve this goal, the author uses socially constructivist securitization theory, critical terrorism studies and political psychology, namely cognitive and social psychology. Throughout the chapters, the securitization process of terrorism is explored; terrorism as a (to a certain extent) objective problem, further, from the point of view of critical terrorism studies, the security measures are assessed and public opinion is examined through public opinion polls. The author comes to the conclusion that public opinion is one of the key factors in implementing extensive security measures. Therefore, she further examines the factors that affect public opinion; the narrative, the role of the media, and ultimately the psychological processes influencing the perception of reality. It turns out that the narrative about terrorism and the media have their share in the public reaction to terrorism, but the role of the audience in the securitization process of terrorism is not fully explained and there are the psychological processes that illuminate it. Therefore, by running an experiment, the author examines the effect of three narratives about terrorism, based on psychological theories. It concludes that there is a potential for reducing the public's fears and thus the alternative fight against terrorism.

The thesis is focused on the terrorism after the attacks of 09/11, which is a key factor in its considering as a one of the most serious security threats in the 21st century. The thesis deals with a perception of the terrorist threat, particularly if it corresponds with reality and what it is influenced by or constructed by. Further the thesis is concerned about "the war on terrorism" as a reaction on the attacks which has become an American national mantra. It is tried to find out if the reaction was adequate in relation with seriousness of the attacks, if it was effective in regard of fulfilling its aims and if it was legitimate in comparison with our values and moral principles.

Suppressing the legalisation of the earnings of criminal activities along with the terrorism financing represent the essential aspect of terrorism and predicative crimes (from which the illegal earnings are obtained) prevention. Focusing on concealing the tracks of money transfers, the legalisation of the earnings of criminal activities and terrorism financing is being proceeded throughout a series of money transfers and with the help of other financial services. Therefore, it is crucial to mainly focus on the field of payment services providers when trying to supress these activities. For the purposes of supressing the legalisation of the earnings of criminal activities and terrorism financing the banks and other bodies on the financial market are relevant providers of the payment services. The key legal provision regulating the domain in question is the Act no. 253/2008 Coll. (regarding certain precautions against the legalisation of the earnings of criminal activities and terrorism financing) which puts the payment services providers in the role of liable subjects. Money laundering and terrorist financing are serious problems that may not only disrupt the stability and reputation of financial institutions, but also affect a wide range of individuals. Therefore, this kind of conduct can be punished as a crime, including the active involvement of banks in money laundering. However, the diploma thesis focuses mainly on preventive measures introduced by the provisions of administrative law. The role of a well-functioning banking system is essential for the effective suppression of money laundering and financing of terrorism. Banks are the most frequent reporters of suspicious transactions and the bank services are used by wide range of persons. The role of banks is mainly determined by their designation as obliged entities by the Act no. 253/2008 Coll., on certain measures against the legalization of proceeds of crime and terrorist financing. This thesis deals with instruments in the fight against financing of terrorism, introduced on the international level. The thesis focuses on three key instruments in fight against terrorism financing, the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, the resolution of the Security Council of the United Nations no. 1373 (2001) and the Nine Special Recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force. The instruments are described with regard to the circumstances under which they were created and their progressive development. The thesis is trying to answers the question of the significance of dealing with the issue of terrorism financing from the view of international law as well as assessing the described instruments. The diploma thesis consists of an introduction, five chapters and the conclusion. Cílem práce je obecně popsat pojištění pro případ přerušení provozu, včetně specifik v konstrukci a jeho nových podob (např. elektronická rizika a riziko terorismu) a zhodnotit možnosti jeho uplatnění na pojistném trhu v České republice. V úvodu práce je stručně vysvětlena podstata a historický vývoj pojištění pro případ přerušení provozu. Dále je popsán charakter rizik, možné příčiny přerušení provozu, podrobný rozbor konstrukce a specifik daného pojištění. Práce zmiňuje možnou klasifikaci pojištění pro případ přerušení provozu a věnuje se také moderním formám tohoto pojištění. Analýza využití pojištění přerušení provozu v ČR je provedena formou srovnání nabídek čtyř velkých pojišťoven působících na českém pojistném trhu.

Diplomová práce se zabývá porušováním lidských práv ve válce proti terorismu, vedené USA, a sleduje vztah bezpečnosti a nutnosti dodržování lidských práv. Popisuje právní rámec lidských práv, možnosti zákonného omezení závazků ze smluv o lidských právech a vztah s mezinárodním humanitárním právem. Zkoumá stupeň dodržení právního rámce ze strany USA a podrobně se zabývá porušeními základních lidských práv ve válce proti terorismu, a to jak v zahraničním, tak i vnitrostátním prostředí USA.

Diplomová práce se zabývá italskou zahraniční politikou vlády koalice Domu svobod v letech 2001-2006 se zaměřením na bezpečnostní problematiku. Charakterizuje tradiční priority italské zahraniční politiky, na jejichž základě sleduje vývoj zahraničněpolitického kurzu Itálie pod vedením Silvia Berlusconiho. Analýza transatlantických vztahů je doplněna pojednáním o postoji Itálie k evropskému integračnímu procesu a k vybraným strategickým sférám italského národního zájmu. Cílem práce je zhodnotit pravdivost hypotézy o změně tradiční zahraničněpolitické orientace Itálie, která je s touto vládou často dávána do spojitosti. Poslední kapitola je z tohoto důvodu věnována postavení Itálie v boji proti terorismu, které představuje jeden ze základních bodů sporu.
