As mudanças incluem novas formas de trabalho, agora com uma base tecnológica muito mais desenvolvida. A empresa CAPIXABA também se insere nessa realidade, ao promover o processo de reestruturação interna na década de 90, que inclui uma tentativa de produção e domínio sobre a subjetividade dos trabalhadores. Em paralelo a essas mudanças, grande parte dos trabalhadores do setor operacional tem buscado novos conhecimentos por meio do ensino superior, elevando em demasiado o nível de qualificação e escolaridade no chão da fábrica. Deste modo, o objetivo da pesquisa foi conhecer os fatores subjetivos e intervenientes no comportamento destes trabalhadores. A pesquisa é qualitativa e descritiva, usa o estudo de caso como procedimento de coleta de dados e a técnica da conversação e da fala para análise. Os resultados obtidos mostram que os trabalhadores do setor operacional estão buscando o ensino superior, principalmente porque: existe grande oferta de vagas nas instituições privadas de ensino superior; estão se preparando para o mercado de trabalho; procuram estar no mesmo nível dos trabalhadores do setor operacional que já concluíram o ensino superior, sendo então influenciados por estes; querem exercer profissões diversas, em paralelo à função de operador; são influenciados pela empresa, de modo a desejarem ascensão profissional. Palavras-chave: reestruturação produtiva; tecnologias de gestão; subjetividade; qualificação; escolaridade; trabalhador do setor operacional. / The growth of the world-wide competition, the globalization and the crisis on the scientific organization of work had brought alterations on society, on the companies and on the behavior of workers and their unions. The changes include new forms of work, now with a better developed technological base. The company ‘CAPIXABA’ is also inserting in this reality as they promote the process of restructuration in the 1990’s, which includes a production attempt and a deprivation of the workers’ subjectivities. In parallel with those changes, a great deal of workers in the operational sector had been searching for new acquirements by means of superior education, raising too much the level of qualification and education in the operational sector. In this way, the goal of the research was to find out subjective and interferers factors on those workers behavior. The research is both qualitative and descriptive, and uses the study of cases as a procedure of data collection and the conversation technique for the analysis. The obtained results show that the workers of the operational sector are searching for higher level of education, specially because: there is a great deal of vacancy being offered on private universities; they are getting ready for the work market; they try to be in the same level of the other workers of the operational sector who are already high graduated, which is an influence to them; they want to have different professions, in parallel to the operator’s function; they are influenced by the company in such a way that they will for professional ascension.
