This thesis is a case study about three textile cooperatives made up of women from three indigenous ethnic groups in the Mexican state of Oaxaca: Galvain Cuy (Zapotecs, Teotitlán del Valle community), Jiñi Ñuu (Mixtecs, San Juan Colorado community) and Kee Nshií (Chatino people, Santiago Yaitepec community). Together with other Oaxaca handcraft cooperatives, these are connected with the community firm Color y Cultura, which looks after the sales and promotion of their products. This paper maps the cooperative work of the indigenous women who are involved in handcrafted textile production in the above-mentioned three communities, and how the umbrella firm Color y Cultura residing in Oaxaca de Juárez operates. It examines how these women perceive the cooperative business model and the Color y Cultura community firm, which they are connected with, as well as the advantages and weaknesses of this model of a work organisation. It also treats their ethnic self- perception in relation to their actual handcraft work and the promotion thereof. The membership in Color y Cultura makes it possible for the women in the cooperatives studied to avoid dealing with a middleman thanks to its brick and mortar shop in Oaxaca. This brings them a higher profit, creative freedom and direct contact with the customer....

Ontologicko-ontický rozvrh podmínek a předpokladů neautentického pobytu na příkladu neautenticky uměleckého díla / Ontological-ontic Concept of Conditions and Prerequisites of Inauthentic Dasein Demonstrated by the Example of Inauthentic Work of ArtKrcha, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The thesis deals with the issue of authentic or inauthentic work of art in the context of philosophy of authentic / inauthentic mode of existence (Dasein) as it was developed by Martin Heidegger in his Time and Being. The reason for addressing this issue is an effort to open the possibility of understanding authenticity or inauthenticity of individual Dasein in the manner which grasps it in the act of its performance, i.e. as a singular event. Thinking of authentic / inauthentic work of art demonstrates the limits of approach which understands authenticity only as certain originality or "selfness" which should belong to something authentic or inauthentic, almost like its accident. This thesis is therefore concerned with what is revealed if the concept of authenticity is transposed to a work of art. Since it is the subject who can make the act of performance of authenticity happen, the author and the recipient of the authentic / inauthentic work of art are problematized as well. When dealing with the work of art with respect to its temporality (historicality) or its being, the thesis also provides room for the issue of perception of the work of art. The resemblance of the author and the recipient is thus revealed and so is the necessity to learn to see not only artworks as such but to see them...

Based on the exploration of stained glass on both sacral and public premises, as well as on pieces created for the presentation of Czechoslovakia at international exhibitions, it creates a comprehensive picture of the development of Czech stained glass in this period. The first part deals with the renewal of glass making and professional schools. Most attention is paid to Josef Kaplický's studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague. The thesis also documents works of glassmakers and artists in 1950s. As a breaking point for the development of stained glass, EXPO'58 is stated. In 1960s, the World Fair in Brussels widely influenced activities of Czech glassmaker who started inserting stained glass innovatively into reliefs using other experimental forms. It also shows that, in connection with new technological innovations in 1970s and 1980s, stained glass was applied in reconstructed and new buildings. The text implies that after the Velvet Revolution in 1989, a change occurred in the State's approach to the support of decorating public buildings, and in the same period, new private artistic glassmaking workshops and stained glass studios were established. There was more...

Autorskoprávní problémy vznikající v souvislosti s rozvojem umělé inteligence / Copyright problems emerging with development of the artificial intelligenceJeníček, Michal January 2022 (has links)
Copyright problems emerging with development of the artificial intelligence Abstract Artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly present in every aspect of our lives which as a consequence creates many different challenges that the law needs to respond to. One of these challenges is the issue of copyright protection of artistic works created with the facilitation of artificial intelligence. Prior to this massive development of artificial intelligence, the authorship of artistic works has not been much of an issue, since computers have traditionally been considered as mere tools in the process of work creation and a person using this tool has been considered as the author. However, in the case of artistic works created with a certain degree of involvement of artificial intelligence, the creative contribution of its user can often be negligible, and as such arises a question whether these works should even be protected by copyright and if so, who should be the author. The primary objective of this thesis is to analyze current legislation regarding artistic works and the author of these works, to look at examples of contemporary artistic works made by artificial intelligence and whether such works may be, in certain conditions, considered as artistic works in the legal sense and if so, whether it is...
