MORAVSKÉ VINAŘSKÉ CENTRUM BRNO / Moravian wine centre Brno

Vojtěšek, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
The city of Brno has always been a center of Moravian wine. The new draft of wine center responds to this reality and represents the grandeur of wineries in its full glory. Respect for nature, love for traditions and love for order/system are the main aspects of the design. The proposal is essentially open to the public, however, the necessary modesty is preserved. Conversely taciturnity of production part of buliding holds the secrets of the deep traditions of Viticulture and Enology. Designed buildings are used for production, wine storage, administration associated with the production, tasting and selling wine, conferences, accommodation and, finally, wellness and other activities. The size of the building is the result of an optimal design that does not interfere with nearby historical buildings. The emphasis is on minimizing costs both during construction and during operation. Flor plan shape resembling the letter L is oriented towards the west courtyard. This raises a unique viticultural area court with a wide staircase. The amphitheater can be used for seasonal exhibitions, pilgrimages or feast of local entertainment. The yard is connected with the street Hlinky, which paraphrases the historic entrance portals into winecellars. The northern part of the building bites into the ground and connects the original winecellars with new facilities. Small narrow windows reflects the desired taciturnity, just as it was with winecellars in South Moravia for centuries.

Náměstí míru - dostavba a rekonstrukce veřejného prostoru v Brně / Náměstí míru - extension and rehabilitation of public space in Brno

Šarmanová, Zuzana January 2017 (has links)
The goal of my work was to design a good working complex of buildings with a diverse functional structure which is missing in Masaryk's district a little. The design is highly influenced by the character of Masaryk's quarter, transport solutions and other factors that emerged from individual territorial analyzes. Crucial to my design was the position of the tram loop. I decided to move the loop to the park, which allowed me to create a quiet square for people and not for transport. Designed apartment houses create block structure by their shape and layout. The site is densely bulit with terraced houses that appear in this locality. Another inspiration for me was the area around Pod kaštany Street. Buildings are designed as a four-storey. The fourth floor is retreated to three-meter to creating roof terraces for flats in last storey. The mass of the house is created by simple blocks with an average size of 72 x 12 m. They are curved at the end to create form a block structure. There is always a 9 m space between these intersections, which forms the entrance to the courtyard. The views of the courtyards repeat the principle of distance between family houses with views of their private gardens. In addition to residential buildings, I have also designed a library with a social center, a town hall that creates a counterbalance to the church of St. Augustine and also a smaller sports hall. All these buildings work together to bring more diversity into Masaryk's neighborhood, whether in terms of civic amenities or social composition of the population.

Intenzivní dům v Brně / Intenzive Urban Housing Brno

Giacintová, Sylva January 2015 (has links)
The subject of this thesis is the architectural study of revitalization of a city block and its spatial structure. Selected part of city was solved already in previous project that preceded own thesis. Merger proposal will allow a larger number of different functions within the complex, which will ensure the residents to various forms of housing, services and employment and leisure activities. The studied area is located in the city of Brno-Veveří. Plan shape of the object based on the area in which the three parties connected to the access road. Mass and spatial design respects the surrounding buildings and uses the sidewalks along the whole of the area. The matrix of the object is divided by two axes passing through the object into three blocks linked by a courtyard. This creates a square with a water surface with the possibility of recreation and sitting under the trees. The shape of these three blocks is further formed in several height terraced layers. Do terraces are placed in the atrium and individual residential and office units have large windows and balcony available. This solution brings natural light into the interior while allowing illumination of the courtyard and surrounding objects within the chosen area. This spatial structure is horizontally divided by function. There are proposed underground public garage, arcade with shops, services, administration and housing. The exterior of the building is designed by combining brick facades and white plaster, which works like optically lighter impression of the building.

Sukač, Richard January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the new building of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Veveří street, Brno. The area discussed is situated on the border between Brno-střed and Brno-Žabovesky. It is delineated by Veveří, Šumavská, and Bulínova streets. The design concerns a complex of two universities, which comes from the new draft of local plan of Brno. This plan copes with a draft of an underground tram track. The design also follows the building programme which has been created for an architectural competition in Akademické square in Brno. Both the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Institute of Forensic Engineering (which is expected to be converted into the Faculty of Forensic Engineering) will be moved to this compound. Furthermore, common conveniences, used by all of the dislocated organization units, will be situated there, including the assembly hall, university canteen, library, exhibition grounds and technical support. Apart from the buildings of VUT, the campus will include a parking lot, requested and financed by the municipal authority of Brno, which will replace current parking spots. The arrangement of the campus proposed will allow a successive construction - during the first phase, all the parking lots must be built and subsequently, the individual faculties. FaVU will be composed of three traditional disciplines - painting, sculpture and intermedia - which will include other subdisciplines.
