Undervisningsvideor har blivit ett alltmer populärt komplement till, eller del av, undervisningen vid universitet. Tidigare studier visar på positiva effekter av att studenter använder undervisningsvideor som en del i sina studier. Eftersom en vanlig talhastighet på ca 125-150 ord per minut är långsammare än den hastighet i vilken hjärnan kan ta till sig information, syftar denna studie till att undersöka om inlärningen kan effektiviseras med hjälp av en högre uppspelningshastighet på undervisningsvideor. Frågan som ställs är hur uppspelningshastigheten av en undervisningsvideo påverkar korttidsinlärningen av det presenterade materialet. En experimentstudie genomfördes med fyra grupper studenter som fick se samma video i olika hastigheter - 1x, 1,25x, 1,5x och 2x hastigheten. Studien utfördes vid tre tillfällen spridda över två veckor och hade 26 deltagare. Resultatet tyder på att uppspelningshastigheten inte påverkar ens korttidsinlärning av den presenterade informationen. Detta innebär att genom att öka uppspelningshastigheten är det möjligt att på kortare tid tillgodogöra sig samma information från en video. Denna studie pekar på att detta gäller i upp till den dubbla uppspelningshastigheten, eller motsvarande 320 ord per minut. Det är således möjligt att effektivisera inlärningen genom en högre uppspelningshastighet på utbildningsvideo. / Educational videos have become an increasingly popular complement to, or part of, university education. Earlier studies indicate positive effects of students using educational videos as part of their studies. Since the speech rate of a conversation is about 125-150 words per minute, it is slower than the speed in which the brain can absorb information. This study aims to examine whether it is possible to make studying through use of educational videos more efficient by increasing the playback speed. The overall research question is how the playback speed of an educational video influences the short-term learning of the presented material. An experimental study was conducted at three separate occasions spread out over two weeks and included 26 participants. Four groups of students saw the same video in different playback speeds: 1, 1.25, 1.5 and 2 times the original speed. The results indicate that the playback speed does not affect the short term learning of the presented information. This means that it is possible to digest the same information from a video in a shorter span of time by increasing the playback speed. It is therefore possible to make learning through educational videos more efficient by adjusting the playback speed. The results show that this is true for speeds up to double the original speed, corresponding to 320 words per minute.
