Läroböcker i samhällskunskap utifrån ett intersektionellt perspektiv : En läroboksanalys om hur normer framställs i samhällskunskapsboken ”Forum 123” / Social science textbooks from an intersectional perspective

Marklund, Jessica January 2019 (has links)
Norms and values have a central role in teaching and the school should contribute with this knowledge. How this is to be done is not concrete expressed in the curriculum and is therefore of importance to investigate more closely. The analysis of norms will be made from an intersectional perspective in order to be able to create a just picture of how social structures are created. By an intersectional perspective is meant that norms should be studied based on its interaction and not individually. This study examines which words are used in the production of the categories gender, ethnicity and class, and whether norms are presented as independent or dependent factors when explaining social structures. As a method, a critical discourse analysis of the textbook Forum 123 (2017) will be made. The result of this study shows that intersectionality is mentioned on two occasions in the textbook but does not permeate the book in its entirety. The categories gender, ethnicity and class are divided into different subchapters and are distinguished from each other, which is problematic from an intersectional perspective.
