Bezpečnostní dimenze zahraniční politiky Jižní Koreje / Security Dimension of South Korea’s Foreign Policy

Motýlová, Ivana January 2011 (has links)
This diploma thesis analyses the security dimension of South Korea's foreign policy. This analysis is lead by the tools of realism theory: security dilemma, arms races and definition of the state as the main security actor. These tools are considered to be more suitable for the explication of this topic than the tools of social constructivism represented by the so called Copenhagen school and above all its security complex theory. The aim of this thesis is to prove that in the security area of South Korea's foreign policy, security is still viewed in the traditional realistic sense of a one-dimensional military-political security rather than the multi dimensional view of security prevailing in the international relations area since the Cold War end. In this thesis, South Korea's role in the international system is depicted with the emphasis on the security field from the beginning of the 20th century to the contemporary era. Furthermore, the close security area (East Asian region) and direct security area (North Korea) of South Korea are examined. The last chapter consists of an analysis of official government documents concerning the security dimension of current South Korea's foreign policy.

Determinants of infant mortality level in chosen African countries / Determinanty úrovně kojenecké úmrtnosti ve vybraných afrických zemích

Morkusová, Andrea January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse which determinants have an impact on infant mortality in West and East Africa for a year 2012 based on correlation and regression analysis. Representative countries Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal for West Africa and Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for East Africa, were chosen. From the gained results and information, recommendation for possible better future development of infant mortality is concluded as the outcome of the diploma thesis aim. On base of data analysis, one variable, which influences a development of infant mortality, was not identified, but it can be assumed that a complex of variables affects the infant mortality. In this line with final findings, current strategy of development aid is focused primarily on local activities more than just on financial help.

Výzkum dopadu brexitu na evropské kapitálové trhy a daňovou politiku: komparativní analýza daňových reforem v evropských zemích. / Exploring the Impact of Brexit on European Capital Markets and Tax Policies: A Comparative Analysis of Tax Reforms in European Countries

Yuan, Dian January 2021 (has links)
From the United Kingdom's Brexit on June 23, 2016, to the formal Brexit on January 30, 2020, there has been a large amount of academic literature discussing the possible effects of Brexit. Among them, the literature on the impact of Brexit on tax policy reforms and capital markets in EU countries is too numerous to enumerate. However, the current research literature lacks a discussion of Central and Eastern European countries, and there is even less research on the link between capital markets and tax policy reforms. This article assumes that the impact of Brexit on the capital markets of CEE countries will cause the government to turn to tax increases to increase fiscal revenue. Three hypotheses are proposed under this assumption. In addition, the empirical research in this article uses the combination of the Poisson model and the Heckman selection model to conduct regression research on the overall taxation of CEE countries, changes in direct and indirect taxation tax policies and bond interest rates, government changes, and political parties left or right. It is concluded that Brexit has no significant impact on the capital markets of CEE countries, and has not caused enough shocks that the government will turn to the government to increase revenue by issuing more tax increases. And Brexit...

Úvěrová rizika dceřinných společností zahraničních bank v zemích střední a východní Evropy / Credit risk of subsidiaries of foreign banks in CEE countries

Cheng, Jiamin January 2021 (has links)
This thesis aims to study the banking characteristics of the parent bank of foreign banks and the influence of the economic environment of the home country on the credit risk of subsidiaries. The study collected a data set of 32 foreign banks in eight CEE countries (joining the EU in 2004) from 2009 to 2020 and conducted an empirical analysis using a fixed-effect panel regression model. Credit risk (NPL) is used as the dependent variable, and the explanatory variable is divided into four groups according to the home country and host country, the bank level, and the macroeconomic level. The regression results show that the profitability of the parent bank has a negative impact, while the liquidity, size, capital, and credit risk of the parent bank has a positive impact on the credit risk of the subsidiary. Moreover, the inflation in the country where the parent bank is located has a negative influence on the credit risk of the subsidiary, while the GDP growth and unemployment rate in the country where the parent bank is located leads to an increase in credit risk. These results show that international risk is transferred from the parent country to the host country through a new channel for foreign banks. Key words: credit risk, fixed effects model, CEE countries, banking sytem, foreign bank

Analýza obchodního potenciálu 16 zemí střední a východní Evropy s přihlédnutím k jejich obchodní výměně s Čínou / Analysis of CEE countries' Trade Potential based on Trade between CEE 16 countries and China.

Li, Lei January 2021 (has links)
The main purpose of this dissertation is to explore the trade potentials between Central and Eastern Europe countries and China. According to the collected information and data, this dissertation believes that although there are some shortcomings in the trade between CEE countries and China, CEE countries' trade potentials with China are relatively high. This is because, on the one hand, by observing the trend of the trade development in the past ten years, it could be found that the trade scale between CEE countries and China has been continuously increasing. Combined with the trade competitiveness and trade complementarity between CEE countries and China, this dissertation believes that the practical basis for trade cooperation between CEE countries and China is relatively strong. For example, Latvia has an obvious competitive advantage and trade complementarity in crude materials, inedible, except fuels (SITC 2). On the other hand, according to the trade potential ratios calculated by the trade gravity model, the overall trade potential ratios between CEE countries and China are not significantly high, which suggests that CEE countries and China still have strong trade potentials in export and import trade. Keywords: Central and Eastern Europe countries, China, trade potential, trade gravity...

Svoboda volného pohybu služeb se zaměřením na východní rozšíření Evropské unie / Free movement of services - focus on eastern enlargement of the European Union

Průchová, Věra January 2011 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Free Movement of Services - The focus on Eastern Enlargement of the European Union" describes the development of the internal market of services of the European Union in view of the recent developments to complete liberalization of this market through the adoption of Directive 2006/123/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of the 12th December 2006 on Services in the Internal Market. The Eastern Enlargement of ten new countries partly affected the whole development, because it caused the reestablishment of some protectionist measures in the form of the transitional periods. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the situation on the market of services in the European Union after the admission of at least eight countries from Central and Eastern Europe, and to understand each of these steps, which have lead some states to these protectionist measures. For a greater understanding of my diploma thesis, I tried to explain some important definitions and terms in the first part of the thesis, which can help the reader to easily understand the following sections of the essay. The other chapter presents, in brief, the historical genesis of the internal market of services in the European Union putting greater emphasis on the important milestones such as the founding treaties and...

Finance and Growth Nexus: CEE & Central Asia and Beyond / Finance and Growth Nexus: CEE & Central Asia and Beyond

Enkhbold, Buuruljin January 2016 (has links)
Buuruljin Enkhbold Finance and Growth Nexus: CEE & Central Asia and Beyond Abstract (English) This thesis investigates the effect of financial development on economic growth using both global sample and regional samples focusing on Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia during the time period 1960-2013. The results of fixed effect panel and system GMM estimators suggest that the effect of private credit on growth had been neutral until 2007 and the effect turns negative if the time period is up to 2013. The negative effect of private credit on growth has been the largest for CEE and Central Asia, particularly for non-EU countries in the region. Stock market capitalisation and lending deposit spread have consistent effects regardless of the choice of time frame which implies that economies benefit from larger stock markets and lower lending deposit spread. Keywords: financial development, credit, stock market, spread, growth, CEE and Central Asia, generalized method of moments (GMM)
