Tourism in tropical areas represents the fastest-growing branch of tertiary sector. The Balikpapan Bay (Eastern Kalimantan, Indonesia) is partly covered by mangroves and remains of primeval tropical forest that are extraordinary for their unique biodiversity. To avoid over-exploitation of described destination, detailed analysis of the evolving tourism and implementation of its sustainable form - ecotourism is necessary. The submitted project builds on one of the latest topics of longitudinal research running by Stanislav Lhota, PhD. in this area. Supervisor of this thesis, Radek Trnka, PhD. also joined the research in its beginning in 2005. Description and evaluation of current condition of ecotourism in Balikpapan Bay area is the main goal of the diploma thesis. Therefore, activities of organizations acting on natural tourism field, and which are connected with ecotourism, were analyzed in depth. The semi-annual field research was done in the area of Balikpapan Bay, while a combination of several qualitative techniques, especially participant and non- participant observation and semi-structured interviews as well as document analysis marginally, was used for data collection. The research brought several main findings. Concept ecotourism is perceived as an educative nature-based tourism by...

Evropeizace a stát ve středovýchodní Evropě: Politická ekonomie evropských strukturálních fondů / Europeanization and the State in Central and Eastern Europe: Political Economy of European Structural FundsŠitera, Daniel January 2021 (has links)
This Dissertation explores the impact of the European Union's (EU) Cohesion Policy (and its structural and investment funds) on the transnationalization and subsequent transformation of state in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The Cohesion Policy is commonly known as a redistribution framework which transfers developmental aid from the West European core to the less developed periphery of South Europe and CEE through the EU budget. The dissertation explores the impact of this core-peripheral redistribution from a critical perspective in the Comparative Capitalism (CC) scholarship. More concretely, it focuses on the so-called Visegrád states - Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia - and their dependent market economies between the EU eastern enlargement in 2004 and the mid-2010s. This generates the first main contribution by bringing the EU structural funds into the CC debates on CEE which are mostly preoccupied with the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the transnationalization of Visegrád states. The contribution is impossible without historicizing the role of Cohesion Policy in shaping the EU historical core-peripheral relations since the late 1980s. Such a historization facilitates the second main contribution when examining how the post-2004 CEE integration transforms these...

Desekuritizace a strategické narativy: čínská iniciativa 16/17+1 cílící na země střední a východní Evropy / Desecuritisation and Strategic Narratives: China's 16/17+1 Initiative in the Central and Eastern European CountriesZhai, Dongyu January 2020 (has links)
This dissertation uses Critical Discourse Analysis to examine China's strategic use of desecuritised language in its 16/17+1 foreign policy targeting the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region. Through the lens of securitisation theory and strategic narratives, the analysis suggests that China's foreign policy narrative targeting the CEE countries is strategic in nature and is a representation of China's ambition to form a new global order. As such, the desecuritisation strategies are used instrumentally to alleviate 'China threat' perception, increase the attractiveness of China in the region, and to further achieve its economic and geopolitical goals. Among political elites in the Visegrád 4 countries, namely Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia, the level of reception of China's strategic narratives varies. The pro-China attitude at the governmental level is mainly motivated by economic incentives promised in the Chinese narrative as well as the governments' own political agendas. In a parallel process, converse anti-China sentiments and re-securitisation of China in the countries are largely connected to the primacy of the trans-Atlantic relationship with the US as well as the importance attached to European values. Keywords Chinese foreign policy, Central and Eastern European Countries,...

Dějinný vývoj uzavírání křesťanského manželství a srovnání vybraných obřadů sňatkové liturgie římskokatolické církve a pravoslavné církve byzantského ritu / The Process of Christian Wedding Liturgy in History, Comparison of the Selected Wedding Ceremonies with the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church of Byzantine typeBĚHAL, Martin January 2010 (has links)
The Thesis deals with the historical development of Christian marriage and conversion from the original family ritual to the public ceremony, from secular (state) rituals to the church type of marriage. It describes the beginning of the wedding liturgy at the West and the East. The first part of Thesis deals, except the history of wedding ritual, also with the theology of marriage with selected representatives of the West and the East {--} the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church of Byzantine type. The wedding ceremonies of both churches are described in detail in other parts of the Thesis. They are subsequently compared with a reference to the similar elements and defining the specific parts. The comparison shows that the substantial part of the Roman Catholic ceremony is the bride´s and groom´s wedding vow. The priest is the privileged witness representing the church and he only accepts the vow. Whereas at the Orthodox Church of Byzantine type the marriage is concluded by priest´s blessing and coronation. In the final part the author thinks about the possible suggestion of a ceremony that would include the liturgy elements from both selected churches.

Komparace konsolidace demokracie na území bývalého východního bloku / Comparison of Democratic Consolidation in Former Eastern BlocBárta, Vít January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to numerically evaluate democratic consolidation in Eastern European countries of the former Eastern Bloc. To compare these countries with each other and decide which of these countries can be considered as consolidated democracies. Secondary aim is to find which factors supported this consolidation or at least correlate with it. Theoretical basis of this work is Wolfgang Merkel's theory of democratic consolidation. He divides democratic consolidation into four levels: constitutional consolidation, representative consolidation, behavioral consolidation and democratic consolidation of the political culture. Each level of democratic consolidation is numerically expressed, with usage of Bertelsmann's transformation index data, separately for all states in two-year intervals since 2005 to 2015. Based on that, overall democratic consolidation is calculated. Therefore, we can compare countries between each other and in time. Correlation between factors supporting consolidation and overall democratic consolidation is expressed by Pearson correlation coefficient. This work is beneficial in creating and describing method, which can be used for numerical expression of democratic consolidation in any state since 2005 to 2015 without author's subjective influence. Another benefit is...

Sustainable Energy Development in Central Europe and East Asia: Different Scenarios and Options Evaluation / Sustainable Energy Development in Central Europe and East Asia: Different Scenarios and Options EvaluationTan, Tianhao January 2016 (has links)
This research presents an overview of different sustainable energy development scenarios in Central Europe and East Asia, and is aimed to evaluate the efficiency and availability for introducing a specific sustainable energy source. Accordingly: wind, hydropower, solar, bioenergy, geothermal, nuclear energy. By conducting analysis though multi criteria decision analysis (MCDA) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP) models, divergences among energy options in Central Europe and East Asia are emphasised due to its preferences in hierarchy. A short introduction, related to the present energy outlook with a series of relative regressions and a case study based on corresponding statistics, is presented firstly. This gives insights to assess the evaluation of sustainable energy development options. Evaluation results indicating Central Europe and East Asia should introduce different sustainable energy technologies on account of their own strengths and drawbacks in energy judgements and criterions. Keywords Sustainable energy, energy development, Central Europe, East Asia, energy scenario, energy option, evaluation, multi criteria decision analysis (MCDA), analytic hierarchy process (AHP)
