Asijské finanční vztahy: Případ Japonska / Asian Financial Linkages: The Case of Japan

Fialová, Anežka January 2013 (has links)
This work reviews the topic of international financial linkages, including theoretical definitions and the main methodological approaches of the empirical measurement based on vector autoregressive models. One of the approaches, the Spillover Index methodology based on Diebold & Yilmaz (2009), is then used to analyze the developments of financial linkages of the Japanese stock market in the period from 1995 to 2012. The attention is paid both to the relations with western developed economies and within the region of East Asia. The main contribution of this paper is the fact that it comprises a complete review of international relations of Japanese stock market during the era of unprecedented financial liberalization. The results of the empirical study confirm the opening of Japanese stock markets towards foreign influence. Even though USA have been the major driving force behind the movements in East Asian stock markets, Japan has become a significant regional player, whose influence on East Asian countries has been growing. The developments in the Japanese stock market are on the other hand driven solely by the western developed countries, which further supports the view of Japan as the regional financial leader.

Tomášová, Jana January 2013 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on the generation of committed teachers, regional eastern Bohemia patriotic activists that were interested in ethnography and folklore studies on the amateur level. The first part of the thesis introduces four profession-associates of the same generation, teachers from the end of 19th and the beginning of 20th Century. Subsequent chapters deal with wider cultural-historical context with the emphasis on the history of pedagogy and ethnology. In the thesis there is also the development of homeland studies depicted. These studies were introduced as compulsory at the beginning of 20th Century and were therefore suitable for deepening of the educational role of the school via ethnographical materials. The main focus of the thesis is on the intersection of homeland education and ethnographic activities of mentioned teachers (cooperation with professionals, interest in collecting…) as well as the analysis of their importance to the professional ethnography.

Integration of the equity markets in the CEE countries - opportunity for international portfolio diversification / Integrace kapitálových trhů ve střední a východní Evropě

Krutišová, Alena January 2011 (has links)
There are several advantages of capital markets integration, such as increasing overall market liquidity, improving the scope for diversification and risk sharing. Therefore, the European institutions try to boost capital markets integration among the member states. The aim of this empirical paper is to analyse the level of integration of the main equity markets in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE): the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria from 2001 until 2010 using an integration score analysis. This methodology was proposed by Akdogan (1996; 1997) and later extended by Barari (2004) and by Birg & Lucey (2006). The paper focuses on the developments of regional and global integration of these countries. Findings from this research can be of interest to investors as well as policy makers because the degree of capital markets integration has important implications for cross-border capital flows, financial management, and for the conduct of monetary policy. The results from this paper suggest that the opportunities for portfolio diversification are diminishing in the CEE countries. The diversification benefits were mainly reduced by the accession to the EU, but they did not completely disappear. The findings showed that the global financial crisis in 2008 brought about a rapid change in integration. Global integration increased during the crises, whereas the regional started to decline after years of rising.

Daňová zátěž a její vliv na ekonomiky EU

Němečková, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with tax differences, which occur among states of the European Union. It focuses on the influence of taxes to at-tract foreign direct investment and further impact on the increase of eco-nomic development. Using correlation analysis it quantifies these relationships and proves that generally there are in EU weak links be-tween variables. To sum up, low corporate taxation is a factor which attracts foreign direct investment and foreign direct investment can be under certain circumstances the factor increasing the economic level of the country. Weaker and less obvious results are found for region of Central and East Europe and so called tax havens probably due the po-sition of alternative factors including qualitative characteristics. In addition, these results are discussed in context of recent European effort to coordinate and harmonize corporate taxation.

Komponovaná krajina Františka Josefa Schlika a "krajinotvorba" kolem roku 1700 / Landscape Composition of Count Frantisek Josef Schlik and the "Landscape Creation" around the Year 1700

Rychnová, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
This thesis describes the landscape composition of Czech Count Frantisek Josef Slik (Frantz Joseph Schlik, 1656-1740) and attempts to define the influences and principles which were involved in the formation of the landscape in the manors of Kopidlno, Stare Hrady and Velis- Voksice, now in the Czech Republic, during the life of the aristocrat. Frantisek Josef Schlik ruled the manors for over 60 years and during that time he was responsible for many architectural works with considerable landscape-forming and urbanistic potential. A series of visually interlinked chapels was erected in the Velis-Voksice manor. This series included the meierhof with a little palace in Voksice. This landscape composition has been discussed especially as regards its formal design, but its connection to the Count's motivation has been less well researched, as has been the broader social and, especially, religious context in the area. Another aspect that has been put aside, or not perceived within the context of the manorial landscape, were other structures which Frantisek Josef Schlik built or which were of essential importance for the activities in the manor. These structures, meierhofs, were also significant landscape components. This dissertation first attempts to provide a biography of Frantisek Josef Schlik,...

Úmrtnost v zemích východní a jižní Evropy: trendy a struktury / Mortality in countries of Eastern and Southern Europe: trends and patterns

Šplíchal, Matěj January 2018 (has links)
Mortality in countries of Eastern and Southern Europe: trends and patterns Abstract The purpose of this thesis to is to evaluate any variances and commonality in the trends of mortality rates between southern and eastern Europe for the period beginning at the end of World War II (WWII) to present day. In order that the data used in the analysis of the populations of these two European regions is drawn from broad-based yet controlled demographic parameters, two countries from each region have been targeted. From southern Europe, Italy and Portugal, and from Eastern Europe Hungary and Bulgaria. The thesis will present both the analysis of data that relates to the development of the gross mortality rate together with that of more refined data that calculates the standardised mortality rate. A more in-depth analysis of mortality trends based on mortality tables and decomposition methods will also be presented using indicators of life expectancy at birth, infant mortality and life span, together with methods of decomposition of the difference between two demographic indicators (Kitagawy, R. Pressata, E. Arriagy and V. M. Shkolnikova). The conclusion of the analytical section deals with age variability at death. The hypotheses, set out in the introductory chapter, are evaluated at the end of the paper, based on...

Tradiční technika vyšívání v současném umění / Traditional technique of embroidery in contemporary art

Tocar, Sofia January 2017 (has links)
The present master's thesis discusses the traditional textile technique of embroidery in the context of contemporary art and analyses the way in which this craft technique has evolved from its invention to this day. The historical development points at the inevitable link between this artistic technique and women's history in Western societies, where embroidery strove to maintain stereotypes on femininity. In the twentieth century, embroidery as well as other textile techniques take on a new, subversive quality which enables the beginning of a social dialogue through art. It becomes a part of the public space in the form of banners in demonstrations or craftivist interventions in city streets. It tries to free itself from stereotypes and become an accessible technique for which the artistic process is as important as the finished piece. The work of contemporary artists reveals the shifting position of textile art, which cannot be considered as a simple offshoot of artistic craftsmanship for it has turned into in an autonomous and widely used medium of expression in current artistic production.
