Impact of local heat leakage on vegetation and participation of non-native species

SVĚTLÍKOVÁ, Petra January 2012 (has links)
Human-induced climate change is a recent phenomenon affecting vegetation structure and functioning. As a proxy of climate change, impact of long-term heat leakage from an underground pipeline on vegetation structure was investigated during a two-year study. Zone above the pipeline was considered as a heat island for non-native, potentially invasive plant species. To test this hypothesis, comparative field and laboratory germination experiments were conducted on closely related invasive and native species. Results of this study provide further evidence that climate change can alter vegetation composition and support invasion of non-native, especially C4 species.

Význam monitorování návštěvnosti pro chráněná území na příkladové studii v NPR Vůznice / Visitors Monitoring Importance for Protected Areas on the NPR Vůznice Case Study

Skalková, Petra January 2011 (has links)
Protected areas, which now cover 11 % of the earth's surface (Rodrigues et al., 2004), play a vital role in tourism and they are being visited by more and more people (Buckley, 2003). These areas have been declared to protect species and habitats from being disturbed by visitors and from habit degradation (Kelly et al., 2002; Boo, 1990). This thesis deals with the monitoring and evaluation of tourism impact of illegal traffic to the National Nature Reserve Vůznice. In this study I have focused on three main units: firstly the vegetation - we mapped the specially protected plant species and habitats assessed valuables in ArcGIS, secondly the evaluation of the impact on bird and finally the monitoring of tourism. Valuable habitat is mixed and very valuable habitats are mainly located in the valley of NPR Vůznice, including roadsides. In contrast, less valuable habitats are spread irregularly. I found 11 kinds of plants protected by law while monitoring endangered plants in the area. Among specially protected species in the area surrounding roads are spring snowflake Leucojum vernum (Spring Snowflake), Lunaria Rediviva (Perennial Honesty), Lilium martagon (Martagon Lily) and a greater proportion of important species is located off roads on slopes, e.g. Aurinia saxatilis (Basket of Gold), Dictamnus...

Vegetační prvky komunikací - studie biotechnických úprav

Bodláková, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
The Diploma thesis on topic Vegetation elements of communications - studies of biotechnical modifications focuses on the issue of accompanying vegetation along the roadways, which are currently an inherent part of the landscape in which we live, and should therefore be given the appropriate attention. Based on available sources, the history of vegetation elements of communications, their significance, functions, technology of setting up and subsequent cultivation was summed up in the literary research. An important part of the thesis is also the introduction of relevant legal regulations and standards related to this issue. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the existing tree vegetation elements in the selected section of the road, namely the I / 34 road between the Medkovy Kopce and Rychnov. The conclusions were drawn from the findings, followed by a proposal for the reconstruction of the accompanying vegetation, which focused on the restoration or addition of vegetation elements as well as on the treatment of the existing tree species. At the same time, the draft budget has been drafted.
