This thesis maps the situation in information technology management on the interface between informational services delivery and business users with focus on one of the key roles -- service owner. From the theoretical point of view it's done on the basis of common IT methodologies, from the practical point of view on the basis of comparison of four insurance companies. The thesis concludes possible definitions of the role with regard to benefits achievable for the studied companies.

The theme of this diploma thesis is Knowledge Management that is becoming the focus of business companies. The theoretical part of the work is divided into several chapters that discuss the basic principles of Knowledge Management. The aim of this work is to describe the principle of knowledge management and create a basic draft of the knowledge base for the KPMG company. In the introductory part of the work, terms commonly used in knowledge management are explained. Further, the knowledge capital of the company, types of knowledge management and the related knowledge strategies are described. Second half of the theoretical part concerns the responsibilities, tasks and roles in knowledge management. The last chapters of the theoretical part describe the individual phases of knowledge management introduction in a company. The practical part of this thesis is focused at analysis of KPMG company knowledge management and design of a knowledge base that can substantially reduce the time necessary for completion of certain deliverables. The chapter concerns mainly with description of the system architecture of the knowledge base, that the author has designed for the KPMG company.

This thesis deals with problems of brand piracy. The main objective is to evaluate the current situation in the various types of piracy, focusing on product piracy especially in the forms of counterfeiting and product imitation. The work consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The first chapter of this part concentrates on the general overview of brand policy. The important role and the value of the brands very much influence the purchasing behavior of consumers and support the presence of non-original products. The second theoretical part is further dedicated to the different types of piracy and legal protection of brands falling under the scope of intellectual property rights. To achieve a more comprehensive view, the practical part considers attitude, shopping behavior and opinions of Czech consumers on this issue.

The aim of this thesis is to map how the most common process-oriented methodologies and standards govern the issue of process ownership, define the role of a process owner and a comparison of these with a current practice in the corporate environment. The first part describes the theoretical concepts related to process management, including a description of selected methodologies. The following part is a questionnaire and its description followed by the expected responses based on previous theories. The last, third, part of the thesis contains an analysis based on the data obtained from the questionnaire respondents compared with the stated hypotheses and its evaluation.

The thesis deals with the polarization of Czech media landscape after 2013 as a discursive construct. Our topic is the emergence of new media projects, responding to the takeover of MAFRA by Andrej Babis. Three of these are being discussed: Echo24.cz, Reportér and Neovlivní.cz. The thesis aims to describe the discourse of the alternative media, its own representation in current situation. The subject is based on several concepts. First of them is the theory of social responsibility, which is a strong social value despite being quite questionable. Then, we discuss the trend of media ownership concentration and the development of Czech media after 1989, which has come to important changes, such as the change of the overall model of media ownership and the polarization of the media landscape itself. The first part of the thesis serves as a contextual background for the critical discourse analysis. The analysis verifies the hypothesis as follows: Alternative media is defined in opposition to the mainstream and uses the arguments based on the principles of the social responsibility theory to represent its own position, goals and interests. The thesis deals with real rights written to the cadastre. It is divided into ten chapters and starts with the definition of real rights and its historical development. Then, it disusses the cadastre as a public list. The thesis also deals with situations, where there is discordance between the real legal relationship and what is registred in the cadastre. The following chapters are devoted to the property rights including their mofications, the right of contruction, trust funds, the easement and lien. The thesis also discusses the cases when the property is used by another person and secondary agreements in the contract. It also contains simple plat maps concerning certain institutes mentioned in this thesis.

Master’s thesis deals with problematic of operating aspects and competitiveness of VLJ aircraft in Czech and Europe market. The Thesis contain information about different types of VLJ, their operational costs and comparisons with competitors, some information about aircraft fractional ownership and their operation. There is written a market analysis for this aircraft and air taxi service in analyzed.

The thesis deals with the comparison of selected methods of flat valuation in Děčín and its surroundings. The theoretical part is aimed at crucial terms, definitions and formulas and it covers the description of the area from the social, economic, cultural and historical point of view. The practical part includes the obtained data analysed by means of database and verified by the Grubbs' method. Methods employed in price determination are: price in accordance with public notes; usual price; physical value. The conclusion refers to the price comparison in accordance with employed methods and to the evaluation of the effect of reconstruction on the price of the real estate.

This master's thesis is about code ownership in software projects and creating a tool that would improve cooperation by identifying code owners. The theoretical foundation for code ownership starts from Extreme Programming, explaining models of code ownership and the impact of code ownership on cooperation among teams and team members. The concept is demonstrated on a concrete software firm, where a potential for improvement is identified. The potential is exploited by a software tool, which is designed in the this thesis. The tool is capable of identifying code owners and experts for specific areas in the code based on data gathered from a version control system. The resulting information is made easily accessible. The tool is used to conduct a code ownership research in several projects, which allows me to confirm accuracy of the results. Usability and benefits of the tool is discussed in the final chapter.

The subject matter of this thesis is the analysis of the Czech pre-WW2 legislation on unfair competition as laid out by the Act on Protection against Unfair Competition 111/1927 Sb. and the vast body of work concerning its interpretation and application as contained in both doctrinal works and especially the case law of the Czechoslovak Supreme Court. The thesis then attempts to thoroughly compare these to the relevant contemporary Czech case law and theoretical works. To achieve this goal, after a thorough preliminary analysis and selection of the relevant sources (especially applicable case law), the thesis lays out the most crucial legal questions and areas of interest in which the current legal doctrine and case law have been influenced by the pre-war era. The thesis contains thorough analysis of provisions containing vague legal terms, such as "good morals of competition", "business relations" or "average consumer" and attempts to put these into the context of legislation, legal doctrine and case law of the first Czechoslovak Republic.
