This theses reports on facts about pumped storage power plants. The first part of the theses introduces us to the importace of hydropower, consists of a description of historical development of pumping sets, and also defines limitations for its potential suitable localization. The research is processed via ArcGIS software and it´s methodologically divided into three phases. The first phase is searching for the minimum suitable terrain gradient on the whole Czech landscape and it defines local insterests for the next phase of research. The second phase is based on limited factors and assesses the chosen location of interest. The final phase provides detail on the most potentially suitable destinations with specific locations of pumped storage power plants. The study resulted in map outputs of final destinations and locations of interest across the Czech landscape. The distinction of source data and the importace of classification of enviromental factors are included in the discussion.

Since the mid-20th century, water policy in European countries has gradually changed from the excessive use of natural resources to their protection. The last major change in water policy was putting most of directives into one - to the Water Framework Directive 2000/60 / EC, which introduced water planning and preparation of water programmes on a European scale. Despite its undeniable positives that brought into European water politics, there arise questions about its use in specific projects in practice, especially in hydroelectric power. In some cases, such as for instance case study of the Weser River in Germany shows that the interpretation of the Water Framework Directive is not entirely clear to everyone, so some cases due to ambiguities can get to the Court of Justice of the European Union.

The issue of redress anthropogenic interference with the landscape is one of the discussed topics today not only in professional groups but also among the public, because mineral mining takes place in many places in the Czech Republic. More and more are beginning to promote nearnatural methods of renewal at the expense of recently prevalent technical reclamation. Except for question, how the exhausted places reuse or renew also researches, how the whole process has an impact on the local fauna and flora. The aim of this thesis was a qualitative comparison of water beetles among the forefield Bílina Mine and reclamation dumps Radovesice and Pokrok in North Bohemia province. It was evaluated 16 reservoirs in forefield and 15 reservois of dumps. A total of 36 taxa were found from which 19 were determined only at the species level. The most of taxa were located at post R9 in the forefield, at 4 locations there were none of them. The most abundant was genus Haliplus. The collection took place using standard hydrobiological sampling by sieve. The material was preserved in alcohol, then separated, prepared and finally determined. The obtained data were evaluated and compared using the Jaccards index of similarity. It was tested hypothesis: Due to the good dispersion ability of water beetle is representation of species in the forefield the same as constitution of species in the newly ponds at reclamations. Calculation Jaccard index between locations of forefield and dump reached the highest value of similarity 66,7 %, but over of the value 50% moved only in 7 cases out of 465 possible combinations, thereby hypothesis was disproved. Found species were also evaluated from point of view conservation status according to the Red list of threatened species in the Czech Republic. This way was detected only one species, Laccophilus poecilus, falling into the category VU vulnerable. The determination must be examined.

The thesis summarizes essential available information describing the chosen part of a small stream called the Anšovský potok. The next part describes the current state of its streambed, riparian vegetation and its surroundings. The thesis also includes description of the current views on revitalization of small watercourses and proposes possible revitalization modifications of the selected part of the stream. The suggested solution is based on the new land arrangement designed within the comprehensive land consolidation that was completed at the village Šanov in early 2016. In the context of the proposed modifications this study offers two conceptual solutions differing in their technical and financial demands and in the extent of use of the natural processes of ecological restoration. The study represents the information base for future revitalization projects of the Anšovský potok stream.

This thesis titled Analysis of water quality in the reservoir Plumlov solves water quality issues of this water piece of work. The thesis includes a literature review on the topic of water pollution. In this literature review I address basic information about water, legislation related to water and characteristic of this chosen water piece of work. The field survey, sampling of reservoir and their evaluation in the laboratory are processed in the methodology. The results are shown in graphs which are described. In conclusion of my thesis is the overall assessment of indicators of the water quality. There are also summarized corrective measures for water in the Plumlov reservoir.

The diploma thesis The proposal of the soil protection against water erosion in the cadastral area Hrotovice focuses on issues of water erosion of soil in the cadastral Hrotovice proposal and erosion protection on the arable land. The first part focuses on the description of erosion in general, its distribution, causes and consequences of a literary review. Also described are natural conditions specified locations. Second, that the practical part, is specifically focused on water erosion in the cadastral Hrotovice. There are analyzed various erosion factors, according Wischmeier - Smith equation to calculate the average long-term loss of soil and determined the degree of erosion threat of land. Finally, it formulated a draft measure before the effects of water erosion and determined the effectiveness of this proposal.
