Wer Camping und Caravaning liebt, wird in der traumhaft schönen Landschaft des Elbtals sicher einen guten Standplatz für seine Schlafstätte finden, ganz gleich ob mit kleinem Zelt, großem Wohnwagen oder Caravan. Dresden Elbland hält mit zahlreichen Seen und der Elbe sowie einem dichten Netz an Wander- und Fahrradwegen ideale Voraussetzungen für einen Aufenthalt bereit, der sowohl Entspannung als auch verschieden Aktivitäten bietet. Die Kunst- und Kulturstadt Dresden, das Weinanbaugebiet bei Meißen oder die Wald- und Seenlandschaft um das Jagdschloss Moritzburg garantieren ein abwechslungsreiches Programm. Aber auch das Wander- und Kletterparadies Sächsische Schweiz lohnt einen Besuch. Übrigens gehören zu den weltberühmten Kunstschätzen Dresdens nicht nur Diamanten, Gemälde der „Alten Meister“ und wertvolles Porzellan. Auch ein riesiges osmanisches Dreimastzelt kann man in der Türckischen Cammer im Residenzschloss bewundern. Angeschafft wurde es vor fast dreihundert Jahren, als die sächsische Armee bei einer Truppenschau auf offenem Feld kampierte, was als Zeithainer Lustlager in die Geschichte einging. Camping machte offenbar schon damals Spaß. / Fans of the camping lifestyle will have no difficulty in finding a good spot to pitch up amid the idyllic landscape of the Elbe Valley, no matter whether they arrive with a small tent or a large caravan. The numerous lakes and majestic Elbe together with the extensive network of walking and cycling trails in and around Dresden provide the ideal conditions for a stay that offers just the right mix of relaxation and activity. Proximity to the hiking and climbing paradise of Saxon Switzerland, the hillside vineyards near Meissen and the forest and lake landscape around Moritzburg Castle guarantees a varied programme. Also unmissable is a visit to Dresden’s famous art treasures. Incidentally, these include not only gold, diamonds, paintings by “Old Masters” and valuable porcelain. In the Türckische Cammer (Turkish Chamber) in the Residenzschloss you can also admire a huge Ottoman three-masted tent. It was acquired almost three hundred years ago for the Zeithainer Lustlager, a military display at which the royal army of Saxony bivouacked in the open. Camping was obviously regarded as a fun activity even back then!
