Chemically Programmed  Memory Card and PC Connected Memory Card Reader

Vadakke Kunninmel, Gokuldev January 2013 (has links)
Inkjet-printed memory cards have been developed previously by re-searchers at Mid Sweden University but, these did possess some limita-tions, as each resistive memory cell required one physical contact and the resistances were designed to be electrically programmed. This work overcomes the above limitations by developing chemically programmed printed memory cards and a PC connected memory card reader. Printed memory cards are inexpensive and are developed by inkjet printing the nano-silver ink onto the photo paper substrate. A matrix readout method is used to increase the num-ber of memory cells and, by using a chemical solvent, the resistances were programmed to the desired resistance values and, for which, each resistance value represents data on the cards, called, write once read many (WORM) memories. The memory card reader was developed to access the data (resistance value) of the memory card and also to trans-mit the data to a LabVIEW graphical user interface for displaying the resistance values. By using multiple resistance steps, in which each step represents a different state, it is possible to create a number of possible selectable combinations which can be programmed at a later stage for developing applications.

Moderní způsoby návrhů plně distribuovaných, decentralizovaných a těžko detekovatelných červů / Modern ways to design fully distributed, decentralized and stealthy worms

Szetei, Norbert January 2013 (has links)
The thesis deals with the study of the computer worm meeting several criteria (it should be fully distributed, decentralized and stealthy). These conditions lead to anonymity, longevity and better security of our worm. After presenting the recently used architectures and new technologies we analyse the known implementations. We propose the solutions with the new design together with the possible ways of improvements. In the next chapter we study biological concepts suitable for the new replication mode, where we implement the key concepts of functionality in a higher programming language. At design we have considered as important to be platform independent, so it is possible for the worm to spread in almost every computer environment, in dependence of implementation of the required modules. Repercussão do tratamento contra verminose gastrointestinal sobre o quadro eritocitário e leucograma de ovinos com anemia verminótica / Impact of treatment for gastrointestinal worms on the erythrocyte and leukocyte profile of sheep worm infection with anemia

Gürtler, Glauco Dente 14 September 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this project was to evaluate the impact of anti-inflammatory and antibiotic administration on the erythrogram and leukogram variables, concomitant with antiparasitic use, and the influence exerted by iron dextran supplementation on the spinal response of sheep with verminous anemia. Forty-five sheep, more than 24 months old, naturally infected, were used. The animals were screened by clinical, coproparasitological and hemogram. After the selection, they were allocated in 03 experimental subgroups. Group 01 received only antiparasitic treatment (control); to group 02, besides the antiparasites, an association of antibiotics and anti-inflammatories was applied; and Group 03, in addition to the antiparasitics, received supplementation with Iron Dextran. The results obtained for VCM and HCM indicate that there was a statistical difference between the groups (p<0.05), suggesting that the iron supplementation contributed to the improvement of the spinal response. The predominance of anemia of the normocytic and normochromic type indicates that the animals were able to maintain the homeostasis in iron metabolism. Regarding the variables that represent the leukogram, it was possible to observe that there was a significant variation between the times analyzed (p<0.05), indicative of evolution in the recovery process. There was evidence of normoleukocytemia, with lymphopenia and eosinopenia, besides the occurrence of neutrophilia with deviation to the left. In addition, the inversion of the leukocyte pattern, which changed from predominantly lymphocytic to neutrophilic, was observed, while the animals remained under severe anemia. The platelets count showed a statistically significant difference between the groups (p<0.05), mainly at the beginning of the evaluation process, the period of greatest parasitic infestation.

Petrology of the Upper Nounan - Worm Creek Sequence, Upper Cambrian Nounan and St. Charles Formations, Southeast Idaho

Wakeley, Lillian Donley 01 May 1975 (has links)
The upper member of the Nounan Formation and the Worm Creek Member of the St. Charles Formation, both late Cambrian in age, were studied in the Bear River Range and the Fish Creek Range in southeast Idaho. Lithology and sedimentary structures of these units were compared with characteristics of similar modern sediments and ancient rocks, to determine the environments of deposition and effects of diagenesis for the interval studied. On the basis of widely traced marker horizons, the two-member interval is divided into three parts, with parts 1 and 2 comprising the upper member of the Nounan Formation, and part 3 equal to the Worm Creek Member. A marker of mixed-fossil lime packstone at the base of part 1 is overlain by mixed-fossil and lithiclast lime grainstones and cryptalgal boundstones. Sedimentary structures within these units suggest that part 1 was deposited in shallow subtidal and intertidal environments. An oolitic lime and/or dolomite grainstone marks the base of part 2, and suggests shallow subtidal conditions. Part 2 is comprised of interbedded limestones and dolostones, with dolostone becoming predominant up section. The mixed-fossil, oolitic, and lithiclast packstones and grainstones, and cryptalgal boundstones of this part include sedimentary structures which indicate shallow, subtidal accumulation. The percentage of non-carbonate sand increases near the top of part 2, and sedimentary features suggest that water depth decreased slightly as terrigenous influx increased. The base of part 3 (Worm Creek Member) is marked by sandstones and quartzites, cemented with carbonate minerals and/or quartz over-growths. Carbonate deposition resumed above these terrigenous units in the southern and central parts of the study area, while terrigenous sediments continued to accumulate in the north and northwest. This suggests that the source of terrigenous sand was north or northwest of the study area. Radial-fibrous cement rims on carbonate grains indicate early subsea cementation in limestones. Dolomite in "birdseye" structures and in reworked lithiclasts, both in limestones, suggests that a minor amount of syngenetic dolomite formed, although there are no beds of primary dolomite. Dolostone units do not have the sedimentary structures typical of supratidal environments of syngenetic dolomitization, and have the coarsely crystalline texture and other characteristics of secondary dolomite. Dolomitization in a zone of mixing of fresh water and sea water is a probable explanation of all dolostones in the sequence . Dolomite-embayed quartz and feldspar grains and overgrowths in some quartzites of part 3 suggest that dolomitization continued after lithification of some rock units.

Printed electronics : Implementation of WORM memory in a RF-antitheft system

Hammarling, Krister January 2009 (has links)
<p>Current printable memory technology are not suited for mass produc‐tion. With new inexpensive printed memory, it will be possible to manufacture cheap surveillance tags that are capable to tell the user if something has happened within a timeline. This project is within the ITC FrameProgram 7 founded project PriMeBits. The goal is to imple‐ment a write once read many memory (WORM) onto an RF‐tag together with a sensor that can sense wetness, which can be detected by EAS antitheft systems. Pre researches have been done in the fields printed capacitance, coils and WORMs, all printed with silver ink. Before implementation of a WORM onto a tag simulations and laboratory tests with adjustable resistances were made. Two different circuit models are simulated and tested. When connected to a tag and the WORM is un‐programmed, the EAS system should not trigger an alarm. But if the WORM is programmed by the sensor, the alarm should trigger. Results show that capacitances and WORMs are printable with this technique but coils are not due to high inner resistance. The simulations show that a tag built as an LCCR‐circuit is the best choice. This is also confirmed with tests done with real resistors. With WORMs connected to a tag the results show that approximately 70% of them work as intended, this is because the WORMs as of now are not completely developed. The conclusion of this project is that it is possible to implement a WORM onto a tag with further research, to make an inexpensive surveillance tag.</p> / PriMeBits

The State of Home Computer Security / Säkerhetsläget för hemdatorer 2004

Frisk, Ulf, Drocic, Semir January 2004 (has links)
<p>Hundreds of millions of people use their home computers every day for different purposes. Many of them are connected to the Internet. Most of them are unaware of the threats or do not know how to protect themselves. This unawareness is a major threat to global computer security. </p><p>This master thesis starts by explaining some security related terms that might be unknown to the reader. It then goes on by addressing security vulnerabilities and flaws in the most popular home computer operating systems. The most important threats to home computer security are reviewed in the following chapter. These threats include worms, email worms, spyware and trojan horses. After this chapter some possible solutions for improving home computer security are presented. Finally this master thesis contains a short user survey to find out what the problems are in the real world and what can be doneto improve the current situation.</p>
