[pt] Esta pesquisa analisa transcrições de entrevistas com 17 mulheres,
buscando compreender como elas lidam com seus próprios seios na constituição
de sua autoimagem e identidades sociais, a partir de técnicas de Análise do
Discurso. As teorias de antropologia do corpo e gênero ajudaram a elucidar de que
maneira a cultura deixa marca nos corpos, no caso desta pesquisa,
particularmente, os seios. Estes envolvem complexos significados, como
sexualidade, amamentação, adoecimento (câncer de mama), entre outros, e o
corpo, em particular o feminino, é instrumento de poder, controle e coerção social.
Os dados analisados permitiram a estipulação de três categorias analíticas: a.
Homens geralmente olham com cobiça: seios, família, saúde e sociedade; b.
Nunca amei meus peitos: o mal estar na corporeidade feminina e c. Eu adorava
ver Dr. Hollywood: mídias e imperialismo corporal. / [en] This research analyzes transcripts of interviews with 17 women about howthey deal with their own breasts in the constitution of their self-image and socialidentities, using Discourse Analysis techniques. Theories of anthropology of thebody and gender helped to understand how culture marks its bodies. In culturalterms, breasts imply complex meanings, such as sexuality, breastfeeding, illness(breast cancer), among others, and the body, particularly the female body, is aninstrument of power, control and social coercion. Data analyzed allowed thestipulation of three categories: a. Men generally look with greed: breasts,family, health and society; b. I have never loved my boobs: female body and itsdiscontents; and c. I loved watching Dr. Hollywood: media and bodilyimperialism.
