[pt] No presente texto procuro demonstrar como a música, pelo seu caráter subversivo, pode representar a inserção de indivíduos e culturas subalternas tanto no espaço público quanto no imaginário popular. A partir da leitura de teóricos sobre cultura, subalternidade e música, proponho a reflexão sobre a hierarquia cultural em certos territórios e narrativas. Também são observadas algumas intervenções políticas que geraram exclusão social e criminalização de artistas e determinados corpos subalternizados. Trago a discussão sobre a influência do poder econômico na legitimação de certas políticas excludentes e como, através da música, pode se estabelecer uma mediação cultural em uma cidade cosmopolita e multicultural. A disputa por espaços dos subalternos, cartografia da cidade e capacidade de representação dos sujeitos pelas canções norteiam a presente Dissertação. / [en] In the current text I look to demonstrate how music, through its subversive character, can represent the insertion of subaltern individuals and cultures both into public space and popular imagery. Based on readings of theorists on culture, subalternity and music, I suggest a reflexion on the cultural hierarchy in certain territories and narratives. Political interventions that generated social exclusion and criminalization of artists and certain subalternized bodies are also observed. I bring up the discussion about the influence of economic power in the legitimization of certain excluding policies and how, through music, a cultural mediation may be established in a cosmopolitan and multicultural city. The subalterns dispute for space, the city s cartography and the capacity of representation of the subjects by songs guide the current dissertation.
