[pt] O tema central desta tese refere-se aos aspectos morais da
questão do trabalho e do desemprego, procurando articular a
inserção do indivíduo em seu contexto social com a sua
dimensão interna. O trabalho foi realizado partindo-se
de um estudo de campo que investigou, junto a estudantes
universitários, os valores e problemas do jovem de hoje, e
que apontou essa problemática da sociedade como merecedora
de uma tentativa de melhor compreensão na linha da
articulação proposta. O diálogo constante com os resultados
empíricos - tanto sob a forma de dados quantitativos,
quanto de elementos discursivos, oriundos das respostas a
questionários e entrevistas - orientou a estruturação
teórica na busca de autores cujos conceitos e proposições
lançassem luz sobre tais achados de campo. Assim sendo,
além do pioneiro estudo científico da moralidade conduzido
por Piaget, ponto de partida dessa teorização, outros
autores como Smith, Elias, Rawls, Habermas e Lewin
iluminaram este caminho da investigação. Além disso, as
respostas dos estudantes pesquisados apontaram, também e
principalmente, a necessidade de buscar uma estruturação
dos termos-chave da pesquisa - cidadania e auto-estima
(depois, auto-interesse) - que não apenas fosse compatível
com uma interpretação atual de sociedade democrática
moderna, mas que, sobretudo, integrasse esses conceitos
como contrafaces das relações intersubjetivas do
indivíduo/jovem. Desse desafio de integração resultou a
proposta de uma conceituação do indivíduo, na linha da
psicologia topológica de Kurt Lewin, que, partindo do
conceito de representação de si-no-mundo, parece atender a
esta tentativa de entendimento da problemática do
trabalho/desemprego, bem como servir a futuras abordagens
que igualmente procurem articular os âmbitos pessoal e
contextual do indivíduo. / [en] The leading argument in this thesis concerns the moral
aspects of work and unemployment, in an attempt to relate
the insertion of the individual in his/her social context
with his/her personal inner dimension. We started our
research conducting some field work with university
students, where we aimed to investigate the values and
problems of young people today. The result of our
investigation pointed to the need for a better
understanding of society in the line of the proposed theme.
The constant dialogue with the empirical results - both
under the form of quantitative data and of discursive
elements, resulting from the answers to questionnaires and
interviews - directed the theoretic framework in search of
authors whose concepts and propositions would throw a light
over such field findings. Thus, besides the pioneer
scientific study of morality conducted by Piaget, which was
the starting point of this framework, other authors such as
Smith, Elias, Rawls, Habermas and Lewin have shed some
light over this investigation path. Furthermore, the
answers from the university students also, and especially,
pointed to the need for structuring the key points of the
research - citizenship and self-esteem (later, self-
interest) - that would not only be compatible with an actual
interpretation of the modern democratic society, but that,
above all, would integrate these concepts as counter-faces
of the inter-subjective relations of the
individual/youngster.The result of this challenge for
integration is our proposal of a conception of the
individual, in the line of the topological psychology of
Kurt Lewin. Thus, theconcept of representation of the-
individual-in-the-world - representação de si-nomundo
- seems to satisfy our attempt of understanding the issue of
work/unemployment, and perhaps of contributing to future
approaches that also aim to relate the personal and
contextual dimensions of the individual.
