The aim of this case study is to find out how teachers use book conversations in their teaching. To obtain an answer to this I have applied a hermeneutic method. I observed three different lessons with book conversations and interviewed the teachers afterwards. An analysis of the collected material yields the result that even though the teachers were similar in their ideas and in their way of structuring the lessons, the three teachers also had different elements in the book conversation which they were particularly concerned about and devoted more time to.
