O Sistema Universidade Aberta do Brasil (UAB) é um sistema em forma de rede que articula
instituições de ensino superior públicas, municípios e estados para a expansão e a
interiorização da oferta de cursos de ensino superior na modalidade a distância. O objetivo
geral da pesquisa foi compreender o processo de ensino/aprendizagem na modalidade
educação a distância, sob a visão de alunos, gestores, tutores e professores do curso de
Administração Pública UAB da UFT. Para atingir os objetivos propostos, optou-se pelo
estudo de caso de natureza exploratória e descritiva, por meio de abordagem qualitativa e
quantitativa. A amostra foi composta por: 316 alunos, 70 tutores, 9 professores, a
coordenadora do curso e o Diretor Geral. A primeira fase consistiu em um survey realizado
com alunos; a segunda se fundamentou em entrevistas com os gestores (coordenação e
direção) do curso estudados; na terceira fase, foi realizado um survey com tutores e
professores. De forma geral, os resultados foram positivos, na maioria dos fatores avaliados.
Os alunos avaliaram bem as estruturas física e tecnológica dos polos. Os problemas de
interação merecem atenção, no entanto o percentual de críticas não foi tão significativo. A
pesquisa possibilitou um diagnóstico que proporcionará aos gestores do curso e da EaD como
um todo subsídios para traçarem estratégias para a melhoria do curso e da satisfação dos
envolvidos. / The Open University System of Brazil (UAB) is a network system that articulates institutions
of public Higher Education, cities and states to expand and incorporate the offer of distance
modality of Higher Education. The general purpose of the research was to comprehend the
process of teaching/learning in distance education, viewed by students, managers, tutors and
teachers at Public Administration UAB of the UFT. To reach the objectives proposed, the
exploratory and descriptive study of case was chosen, by means of qualitative and quantitative
approach. The sample was compounded by: 316 students, 70 tutors, 9 teachers, the course
coordinator and the Principal. The first step consisted in a survey fulfilled by students; the
second was based in interviews with the managers (management and guidance) of the course
studied; the third step was to realize a survey with tutors and professors. In general, the results
were positive, in most of the measured factors. The students well evaluated the physical and
technologic structures of the poles. The problems of interaction deserve attention, however
the percentage of critics was not that meaningful. The research enabled a diagnosis which will
provide to the managers of the course and the distance education system (EaD) together
subsidies to trace strategies for the improvement of the course and satisfaction of the
involved.
