Previous issue date: 2008 / Resumo: Nossa intenção foi capacitar clérigos e leigos que trabalham com Aconselhamento Espiritual, em Saúde Mental e Técnicas Psicoterápicas. Nosso objetivo foi: planejar, realizar, analisar o resultado do Treinamento em Saúde Mental para Conselheiros Espirituais, e pesquisar a vivência no Aconselhamento dos participantes antes e depois do Treinamento. O modelo da Pesquisa-Ação foi a base da metodologia utilizada para o Treinamento, as entrevistas semi-estruturadas foram analisadas pelo método fenomenológico e interpretadas através do referencial da Psicologia Analítica e abordagens Bíblico-Teológicas. Tivemos seis alunos, três pastores e três conselheiros leigos; quatro são Batistas e dois Presbiterianos. A experiência em Aconselhamento Espiritual variou entre seis e vinte e um anos. Os resultados indicam que é possível para os Conselheiros Espirituais reunir os recursos da tradição do Aconselhamento, as elucidações aprendidas da Psicologia e as noções de Psicopatologia para um trabalho mais eficaz em Aconselhamento Espiritual / Abstract: Our intention was to train clergy and laymen who work with Spiritual Counseling, in Mental Health and Psychological Techniques. Our objectives were: to plan, accomplish, analyze the results of Training in Mental Health to Spiritual Counselors, and to research the Counseling living experience of the participants before and after the Training period. The model of the Research-action was the methodology basis used for the Training; the semi-structured interviews were analyzed by the phenomenological method and interpreted through the referential of the Analytical Psychology with Biblical-theological approaches. We had six students, three clergy and three layman counselors; there were four Baptists and two are Presbyterians. The experience in Spiritual Counseling there is between six and twenty one years. The results indicate that it is possible for the Spiritual Counselors to gather the resources of the tradition of Counseling, the learned elucidations of Psychology and the notions of Psychopathology to a more effective work in Spiritual Counseling / Doutorado / Saude Mental / Doutor em Ciências Médicas
