Previous issue date: 2017-01-31 / As produções açucareiras imprimem suas marcas e constituem a territorialidade do município de Amélia Rodrigues. A pesquisa intitulada Tradição e Mudanças Recentes no Território de Amélia Rodrigues – Bahia foi realizada com o objetivo de analisar quais são os fatores que estão presentes nas mudanças que se processam nesse município, onde as tradições do histórico Recôncavo Açucareiro se fazem presentes. Essas produções repercutem na dinâmica demográfica municipal, inicialmente concentrada nas áreas rurais dos distritos que, nos anos de 1960, formam o município de Amélia Rodrigues. Sua base econômica é agrícola, mais especificamente açucareira e sua população majoritariamente urbana. Como resultado, uma população que demanda por trabalho, incipiente no município. A pesquisa revela que o ano de 2015 representa para essa comunidade o final do predomínio canavieiro com a paralisação das atividades da empresa sucroalcooleira Aliança, do grupo União Açucareira Limitada (UNIAL), sua maior empregadora que deixa por legado, estruturas açucareiras e um trabalhador com baixa formação escolar e qualificação profissional que necessita migrar pendularmente para outros municípios em busca de trabalho. Associa-se a esses fatores a presença da rodovia BR-324, que corta o distrito-sede e amplia as possibilidades de deslocamentos dessa população, aproximando-a geograficamente dos centros urbanos de Salvador e principalmente Feira de Santana, com repercussões no crescimento da economia local. Ao mesmo tempo, a rodovia se revela como um elemento que contribui para uma possível integração à economia de Feira de Santana, pois verificamos a atração de algumas indústrias de pequeno e médio porte instaladas no município no período de 2000-2016, às margens da rodovia e de outras atividades no segmento de serviços no distrito-sede, principalmente no centro da cidade. / The sugar productions print their marks and constitute the territoriality of the municipality of Amélia Rodrigues. The research entitled Tradition and Recent Changes in the Territory of Amélia Rodrigues - Bahia was carried out with the objective of analyzing what are the factors that are present in the changes that take place in this municipality, where the traditions of the historical Recôncavo Açucareiro are present. These productions have repercussions on the municipal demographic dynamics, initially concentrated in the rural areas of the districts that, in the 1960s, form the municipality of Amélia Rodrigues. Its economic base is agricultural, more specifically sugar and its mainly urban population. As a result, a population that demands work, incipient in the municipality. The research reveals that the year 2015 represents for this community the end of the predominance of sugar cane with the paralysis of the activities of the sugar and ethanol company Aliança, of the group União Açucareira Limitada (UNIAL), its largest employer that leaves by legacy, sugar structures and a Low school education and professional qualification that needs to migrate to other municipalities in search of work. These factors are associated with the presence of the BR-324 highway, which cuts the headquarters district and increases the possibilities of displacement of this population, geographically approaching the urban centers of Salvador and especially Feira de Santana, with repercussions on the growth of the economy local. At the same time, the highway reveals itself as an element that contributes to a possible integration into the economy of Feira de Santana, as we can see the attraction of some small and medium-sized industries installed in the municipality in the period from 2000-2016, along the highway And other activities in the services segment in the headquarters district, mainly in the city center.
