Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur yrkesverksamma studie- och yrkesvägledare gör för att vara anställningsbara, hur de kompetensutvecklas på sin arbetsplats och var ansvaret för kompetensutvecklingen finns. Syftet är också att reda ut vilken effekt nätverkande har för yrkesrollen.Till studiens underlag gjordes kvalitativa intervjuer med sex stycken studie- och yrkesvägledare om deras upplevelser kopplat till studiens syfte.Resultatets viktigaste delar visade att anställningsbarhet är ett svårdefinierat begrepp som fortfarande inte är fastställt. Kompetensutveckling av studie- och yrkesvägledare i den undersökta staden lider av bristande ekonomiska resurser, men ansvaret för kompetensutvecklingen finns dels hos ansvarig rektor men främst hos den enskilde vägledaren. Det framkom även att nätverkande är viktigt för studie- och yrkesvägledarna för att det bland annat ger stöd och trygghet i arbetet. / The purpose of this study is to examine how professional guidance counselors do to be employable, how the skills development within the workplace works and who is responsible for the development of skills. The study also refers to the meaning of networking.To get the information, qualitative interviews were done with six professional guidance counselors about their experiences related to the purpose of the study.The most important aspects of the result were that employability is difficult to define. Skills development within the workplace of professional guidance counselors in the town where the study was made, suffers from a lack of financial resources. Mainly you and partly your headmaster are both responsible for your skills development. It was also found that networking is of importance for professional guidance counselors to among other things provide support and security.
