Previous issue date: 2011-03-04 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / As tendências teóricas e atividades de criação procuraram de alguma forma caminhar lado a lado com as descobertas e os desenvolvimentos tecnocientíficos. Os pensamentos científicos e tecnológicos contemporâneos ampliam e transformam as bases materiais e os potenciais dos modos de produção estético. Tais transformações podem ser observadas no campo da Media Art, manifestação concernente ao contexto contemporâneo, cujas principais investigações artísticas centram-se na Arte Computacional, Arte da Telepresença, Imersão, Realidade Virtual, Arte Transgênica e Arte Genética. Portanto, a presente dissertação tem como objetivo pesquisar as Teorias Estéticas que emergem do contexto da Media Art fundamentadas na ideia de interatividade e interface, assim como os resultados estéticos de Christa Sommerer e Laurent Mignonneau construídos na interseção dos pensamentos científicos, tecnológicos e artísticos. Em linhas gerais, utiliza-se a noção de “Arte como sistema vivo” como recurso para compreender o processo interativo como um conjunto de elementos interconectados, sujeito à constante intervenção. / The theoretical trends and creation activities intended to somehow walk sideby- side with the discoveries and tecno-scientific developments. The contemporary scientific and technological thoughts wide and transform material basis and the aesthetics's production mode potentials. Such transformations can be observed in the Media Art field, an attributive manifestation to the contemporary context, which the main artistic investigations are focused on Computational Art, Tele-presence Art, Iimmersion, Virtual Reality, Transgenic Art and Genetic Art. Therefore, this master thesis has the objective to investigate the Aesthetic Theories which emerge from the Media Art context and have foundations on the idea of interactivity and interface, such as the Christa Sommerer's and Laurent Mignonneau's aesthetic results idealized based on the scientific, technological and artistics' thoughts. Broadly, the notion of the “Art as a live system” is adopted in order to comprehend the interative process as a set of chained elements, subject to constant intervection.
