Introduction Pain is one of the most challenging aspects of palliative care. Despite varioustreatment options for pain, many still suffer from inadequately relieved pain. This underscoresthe complex nature of pain management and the importance of understanding individualvariations in pain experience and treatment effects. Purpose The purpose was to describe how patients experience and cope with pain inpalliative care. Method A descriptive literature review based on ten original articles with aqualitative approach. Results The results showed that pain strongly affected patients' lives, leading tofatigue, emotional distress, and existential concern. Patients struggled to describe andmanage pain, so they preferred holistic treatment approach involving both medical andpsychological methods. A majority experienced frustration with the care they receiveddue to communication gaps. Conclusion When healthcare professionals failed to adequately address patients'needs, trust between them diminished, and lack of clear information contributed topatients losing hope of pain relief. The significance of healthcare professionals iscrucial in alleviating patient suffering. By improving communication and interactionwith patients struggling with cancer-related pain, healthcare professionals could make areal difference in patients' quality of life.
