Previous issue date: 2018-07-11 / Objetivo: Compreender a concepção sobre segurança do paciente em um serviço de hemodinâmica a partir da ótica do usuário elaborando um modelo teórico explicativo com base nos significados atribuídos a luz do Interacionismo Simbólico. Método: Pesquisa qualitativa do tipo Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados como referencial metodológico, realizada com 17 usuários de serviço de hemodinâmica. Resultado: Na concepção do usuário, ele compreende que a Segurança do Paciente perpassa pelo conhecimento profissional, reconhece atitudes que favorecem ou dificultam a Segurança do Paciente, percebe estratégias de enfrentamento negativas e positivas no cuidado, desvela a importância da comunicação na segurança e identifica ações no cuidado com foco no paciente. Considerações finais: Recomenda-se a aplicação deste modelo teórico na prática assistencial ao paciente em seu momento de internação inserindo-o e auxiliando-o no processo de segurança do paciente, garantindo a qualidade do cuidado. / Objective: To understand the concept of patient safety in a hemodynamic service from the user's perspective by elaborating an explanatory theoretical model based on the meanings attributed to the light of Symbolic Interactionism. Method: Qualitative research based on data based theory as a methodological reference, performed with 17 users of hemodynamics service. Results: In the user's conception, he understands that Patient Safety permeates professional knowledge, recognizes attitudes that favor or hinder Patient Safety, perceives negative and positive coping strategies in care, uncovers the importance of communication in safety, and identifies actions in care focusing on the patient. Final considerations: It is recommended to apply this theoretical model in the care practice to the patient at the time of hospitalization by inserting it and assisting it in the patient safety process, guaranteeing the quality of care.
