Bakgrund: Diabetes mellitus typ 2 är en kronisk sjukdom som främst drabbar äldre människor men som numera kryper neråt i åldrarna. I samband med sjukdomen är kroppens förmåga att producera insulin nedsatt. Diabetes mellitus typ 2 kräver livsstilsanpassningar och stöd från sjuksköterskan för att hantera sjukdomen. Sjuksköterskans roll är att stödja patienterna med råd och information för att klara av utmaningen att leva med diabetes mellitus typ 2. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa patienternas upplevelser av stöd från sjuksköterskan vid diabetes mellitus typ 2. Metod: En litteraturöversikt baserad på åtta kvalitativa artiklar och två artiklar med mixad metod. Resultat: Tre teman identifierades under analysen som svarade på patienternas upplevelse av stöd från sjuksköterskan vid diabetes mellitus typ 2. Dessa teman var: viktigt att bygga en förtroendefull relation, sjuksköterskans tillgänglighet är värdefull och individanpassad rådgivning är betydelsefullt. Konklusion: Vikten av en förtroendefull relation mellan patienterna och sjuksköterskan var avgörande för upplevelsen av stöd. Patienternas behov av stöd varierande utefter anhörigas delaktighet vilket visar på att sjuksköterskan bör inkludera anhöriga i vårdandet. Individanpassad rådgivning i form av språkligt anpassad information är avgörande för allas möjlighet till att tillgodose sig vård på lika villkor. / Background: Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a chronic disease that mainly affects older people, but which is now creeping downward in age. In connection with the disease, the body's ability to produce insulin is reduced. Diabetes mellitus type 2 requires lifestyle adaptations and support from the nurse to manage the disease. The nurse's role is to support the patients with advice and information to cope with the challenge of living with diabetes mellitus type 2. Aim: The aim of the study was to highlight patients' experiences of support from the nurse in diabetes mellitus type 2. Method: A literature review based on eight qualitative articles and two articles with a mixed method. Findings: Three themes were identified during the analysis that responded to the patients' experience of support from the nurse in diabetes mellitus type 2. These themes were: it is important to build a trusting relationship, the nurse´s availability is valuable and individualized counseling is significant. Conclusion: The importance of a trusting relationship between patients and nurses was decisive for the experience of support. The patients' need for support varies according to the participation of relatives, which shows that the nurse should include relatives in the care. Individually adapted advice in the form of linguistically adapted information is crucial for everyone's opportunity to receive care on equal terms.
