Previous issue date: 2017-03-03 / There are many women in the countryside, those whose jobs have never been seen beyond mere aid. It is women who, when they do not know the name, are called "Dona Maria". It was sought to know what there is in common in these women whose life is dedicated to the family and agriculture. Thus, the main objective of this study was to know the profile of rural workers, to verify their perception of their rights and the role of sustainable rural development in the perspective of their autonomy. The case study was used because it is possible to find new discoveries because of the flexibility that this type of research allows. Other good points are the possibility of emphasizing the totality and the simplicity of the procedures through an accessible language. Therefore, we opted for the semi-structured interview that was performed with 39 women from four different points in the municipality of Marechal Cândido Rondon, PR. The results indicate that the majority are married, the level of education of women is higher than that of men in primary and secondary education, all work in the home and have no maid. There are a few facts that call attention, more than half of the interviewees are unaware of the income of the husband and admit that the work in the crop is not enough to meet the economic needs of the family, causing many women in addition to working in the field, Type of activity to supplement family income. From the information obtained it is possible to infer that these women work in a regime similar to semi slavery, although they are not forced to work, because although a large part say they know about their rights, they do not exercise. / Muitas são as mulheres do campo, aquelas cujos trabalhos nunca foram vistos além de meras ajudas. São as mulheres que, quando não se sabe o nome, são chamadas de “dona Maria”. Buscou-se conhecer o que há em comum nestas mulheres cuja vida é dedicada à família e à agricultura. Assim, o presente estudo teve como principal objetivo conhecer o perfil da trabalhadora rural, verificar qual sua percepção sobre seus direitos e o papel para o desenvolvimento rural sustentável na perspectiva de sua autonomia. Recorreu-se ao estudo de caso, por ser possível ocorrer novas descobertas em razão da flexibilidade que esse tipo de pesquisa permite. Outros pontos positivos são a possibilidade da ênfase na diversidade e a simplicidade dos procedimentos através de uma linguagem acessível. Assim sendo, optou-se pela entrevista semiestruturada que foi realizada com 39 mulheres de quatro áreas distintas do município de Marechal Cândido Rondon, PR. Os resultados apontam que a maioria é casada, todas exercem o trabalho no lar e na roça, mas não possuem empregadas, o nível de instrução das mulheres é superior ao dos homens, 12,8% (5) das mulheres alcançaram o ensino superior, ao passo que somente 5% (2) dos homens chegaram a este nível. Existem alguns fatos que chamam a atenção, mais de a metade das entrevistadas desconhecem a renda do marido e admitem que o trabalho na lavoura não está sendo suficiente para suprir as necessidades econômicas da família, fazendo com que muitas mulheres, além de trabalharem no campo, exerçam outro tipo de atividade para complementação da renda familiar. Pelas informações obtidas, é possível inferir que estas mulheres trabalham sem as garantias das leis trabalhistas, e que apesar de grande parte dizer conhecer acerca dos seus direitos, não os usufruem.
