Historicamente, as profissionais responsáveis pelo cuidado e educação das crianças de 0 a cinco anos de idade não necessitavam de qualquer tipo de preparação ou qualificação para desenvolver este tipo de trabalho, histórico este que vêm sofrendo alterações no decorrer do percurso das instituições de Educação Infantil e das próprias profissionais que nelas atuam. Para caracterizar um perfil profissional destas professoras atualmente, existe a necessidade de se levar em consideração critérios como: opção profissional, anseios, motivações, expectativas, desafios, incertezas, objetivos e dúvidas sobre seu próprio trabalho e atitudes a serem tomadas com relação à (re)construção de uma identidade que ainda vêm sendo discutida e analisada, tanto diante de sua própria classe de profissionais, quanto diante da sociedade em geral. Partindo do pressuposto de que tais critérios são essenciais para que se constitua o perfil profissional das professoras de Educação Infantil dos CCI s/Unesp, elencamos como objetivos norteadores desta pesquisa: analisar aspectos referentes à formação das professoras para atuar na Educação Infantil e estabelecer a importância da profissionalização das professoras dos CCI s, diante da falsa dicotomia existente entre cuidado e educação. A obtenção dos dados desta pesquisa foi amparada pela pesquisa italiana de ONGARI & MOLINA (2003), através de questionários aplicados em sete unidades de Educação Infantil da Unesp e a metodologia utilizada consistiu em uma pesquisa exploratória, de abordagem qualitativa. / This research presents a quarrel regarding the responsible elements for the constitution of the professional profile of the teachers of Infantile Education of the Centers of Infantile Convivência of the Unesp - CCI' s/Unesp. Historically, the responsible professionals for the care and education of the children of 0 the six years of age did not need any type of preparation or qualification to develop this type of work, description this that comes suffering alterations in elapsing of the passage of the institutions of Infantile Education and of the proper professionals who in them act. To currently characterize a professional profile of these teachers, it exists the necessity of if taking in consideration criteria as: professional option, yearnings, motivations, expectations, challenges, uncertainties, objectives and doubts on its proper work and attitudes to be taken with regard to (reverse speed) the construction of an identity that still come being argued and analyzed, in such a way ahead of its proper classroom of professionals, how much ahead of the society in general. Leaving of the estimated one of that such criteria are essential so that if constitutes the professional profile of the teachers of Infantile Education of CCI' s/Unesp, we elencamos as objective norteadores of this research: to analyze referring aspects to the formation of the teachers to act in the Infantile Education; to problematizar the process of formation continued in service for the teachers of the CCIþs, being verified which used strategies so that all the teachers can have access to the formation in service; to establish the importance of the professionalization of the teachers of CCI' the s, ahead of the false existing dichotomy between taking care of and educating.
