Previous issue date: 2014-07-23 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The present study aimed to identify associations between religiosity, the perception of the meaning of life, the ontological perception of time and subjective vitality of older people. An empirical study was conducted with hundred people with an average age of 67.2 years (SD = 5.6) and range 60-87 years. The participants responded to a battery of four instruments: Religious Attitudes Scale (RAS), Sense of Life Questionnaire (QSL), Perception Scale Ontology of Time (EPOT) and the Subjective Vitality Scale (EVS) along with those instruments was added an instrument to measure the socio-demographic data such as age, gender, education and religion. It was observed knowledge and religious behavior are directly associated with the realization of meaning of life. Concerning the Subjective Vitality, this was directly associated with the ontological perception of the past. The results were discussed in light of the existential analysis of Viktor Frankl. / O presente trabalho teve por objetivo principal identificar as associações entre a religiosidade, a percepção do sentido da vida, a percepção ontológica do tempo e a vitalidade subjetiva de pessoas idosas. Foi realizado um estudo empírico junto a cem pessoas com idade média de 67,2 anos (dp=5,6) e amplitude de 60 a 87 anos. Os participantes responderam a uma bateria constituída por quatro instrumentos: Escala de Atitudes Religiosas (EAR), Questionário de Sentido de Vida (QSV), Escala de Percepção Ontológica do Tempo (EPOT) e a Escala de Vitalidade Subjetiva (EVS), junto a esses instrumentos foi acrescido um instrumento para aferir os dados sócio demográficos, como idade, sexo, escolaridade e religião. Observou-se que o conhecimento e o comportamento religioso se associaram diretamente com a realização de sentido de vida. No que se refere à Vitalidade Subjetiva, esta se associou diretamente com a percepção ontológica do passado. Os resultados foram discutidos à luz da análise existencial de Viktor Frankl.
