The aim of this study was to increase the awareness of the feelings that are described in autobiographies written by people that were victims of child sexual abuse and the role that these feeling have in the victims youth, self image and their later life. The empirical base of the study was eight autobiographies. The result of the study shows that feelings och shame, guilt and stigmatisation were prevalent among the examined autobiographies. The study concluded that these feelings were found to have affected the individuals self image and that were present and had consequences for the victims in their later life. I addition were theories regarding shame and stigma applied to the study to allow a further analysis of the feelings.
