Fetman hos befolkningen ökar i världen, vilket påverkar hälsa och livskvalitet, detta ställer höga krav på vården. Sjuksköterskan har som profession stor betydelse för att kunna påverka människors hälsa. Ett yrkesmässigt förhållningsätt för sjuksköterskan inbegriper en god attityd till varje unik patient. Sjuksköterskan bör reflektera över egna värderingar och attityder till fetma, då det påverkar omvårdnadens kvalitet. Syftet med studien var att belysa vad som påverkar sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskestudenters attityder till vuxna patienter med fetma. Metoden som användes var en litteraturstudie, uppbyggd på elva vetenskapliga artiklar. Resultatet visade att sjuksköterskans kunskaper om fetma, erfarenhet av att arbeta med patienter med fetma, sjuksköterskans egna BMI samt ålder påverkade attityden. Vidare forskning kring orsaker till sjuksköterskors attityder till patienter med fetma är av intresse för att förbättra attityden till den patientgruppen och därmed kvaliteten på omvårdnaden. / Obesity in the population is increasing worldwide, obesity develops diseases and affects people’s health and their quality of life, and this puts health care professionals on high demands. The nurse has as a profession a very important position for the human health. A professional way of work is important for nurses and it involves a good attitude to each unique patient. The nurse should therefore reflect on their own values and attitudes towards obesity, because it affects the care. The aim of the literature study was to clarify what affecting nurses and nurse student’s attitudes towards adult patients with obesity. The method used was a literature review, based on eleven scientific articles. The results showed that nurses 'knowledge about obesity, experiences of working with patients with obesity, nurses own BMI and age influenced nurses' attitudes towards patients with obesity. Further research about the affecting of nurses' attitudes toward obese patients is of interest for improving the attitude of the patient population, and thereby the quality of care.
