This paper is divided in two parts. In the first one I propose to analyze some discussions on
the concept of paradigm, as stemming from it’s formulation by Thomas Kuhn and following
later developmentes by Giorgio Agamben, while exploring possible relations between this
concept and Michel Foucault’s archaeology, in order to achieve a better understanding of its
workings. In the second part I explore some of the questions proposed by Foucault in The
order of things by reading some of the literary works – Dom Quixote, Justine and Juliette and
some texts by Borges –, mentioned in the context of the book’s archaeological investigation.
This way I intend to clarify some of the possible relations between literary texts and thought
through the notion of paradigm
