The aim of our study is to investigate the experiences of preschool teachers in relation to the gender-coded popular culture in preschool. The Preschool Curriculum states that everyone who works at preschools shall counteract gender stereotypes, while highlighting that the preschool should give children an enjoyable learning based on their interests. Scholars have shown that popular culture and gender work are two complex areas which both exist in Swedish preschools, and therefore we aim to investigate preschool teachers experience of popular culture at the preschools.
