Tem o objetivo geral de contribuir para ampliar os pontos pitorescos locais de ocorrência dos recursos ou atrativos naturais e propor rotas de turismo. Visa também auxiliar a comunidade a caracterizar de fato, porque de direito já o é, uma autêntica estância turística. A base geológica é fundamentada no meio físico e seus elementos formadores: solo, rocha e principalmente a água de superfície nas microbacias e de profundidade, como a geotermal. Os traços geológicos são representados pela estratigrafia, estrutural e neotectônica, geomorfologia e potencialidades paleontológicas e arqueológicas. O meio ambiente e a ocupação antrópica são analisados nos aspectos geográficos e históricos e suas influências ecológicas principalmente sobre a cobertura florestal. As formações sedimentares das bacias Bauru e do Paraná, bem como o vulcanismo basáltico, são ocorrências do arcabouço geológico para o turismo. Algumas práticas do ecoturismo são também indicadas para o cenário pictórico do município. / This research deals with the application of geology knowledge as proposal to the maintainable development of the environmental tourism in the Municipal District of the Touristic Resort of Paraguaçu Paulista, São Paulo State, Brazil. It has the general purpose of contributing to broaden the local picturesque points of occurrence of the natural resourses or attractions and propose tourism routes. It also aims aiding the community to actually be known, because it already has the right, a genuine touristic resort. The geologic base is find in the physical environment and its former substances: soil, rock and specially wate surface in microbasins and deep, as the geothermal. The geologic traces are represented by structural and neotectonic estratigraphy, geomorphology and paleontologic and arqueological potencies. The environment and the anthropic occupation are analized by the geographic and historical aspects and their ecologic influences specially on the forestal covering. The Bauru and Parana s sedimentary basins, and also the basaltic vulcanism, are occurrences of the geological framework for the tourism. Some ecotourism practices are also indicated to the municipal district s pictorial setting.
