Previous issue date: 2007-09-28 / Having as object the cinematographic criticism published in different daily
newspaper of different Brazilian cities, this work is focused on an exam of the relation
between critic jornalist and their readers and, more specifically, on the reader s cultural
enhancement. The corpus is constituted by in a selection of critic reviews of Luiz Zanin
Oricchio, from O Estado de S. Paulo, Jaime Biaggio, from O Globo, Tiago Faria, from
Correio Braziliense and Inácio Araújo, from Folha de São Paulo published between
january 2000 and december 2005. The research had as theoretical explanation the critic
definition as proposed by Bento Prado Junior, the concept of public sphere such as
defended by Jürgen Habermas, the aesthetic theories described by Jean-Yves Tadíe and
the semioptics theories formulated for Roland Barthes and Yuri Lotman. Concerning
the methodology, was made a valorative examination of the selected critics work. The
corpus was gotten using the estratified proportional sampling method. Its analysis
constituted the identification of the structural elements of the text and its relation with
the general aspects of the speech, beyond the judgment used for the critics to make
them. The analysis of the material allowed us to arrive at the following results: cultural
enrichment of the reader. The hypothesis with that we work is that the examination of
the film covering by newspaper can bring keys for the understanding of the processes of
circulation of cultural information and of the formation of the taste of the reader, from
which if it will be able to arrive at this work s main axis: answer if the criticism are
worried in, more than make a judgment of film values, to contribute in the audience s
cultural formation / Tendo por objeto a crítica cinematográfica publicada em jornais diários de
diferentes cidades brasileiras, o presente trabalho está voltado para um exame das
relações entre o crítico jornalista e seus leitores e, mais especificamente, para a questão
da formação do gosto do leitor.O corpus da pesquisa é constituído por uma seleção de
peças críticas de autoria de Luiz Zanin Oricchio, de O Estado de S. Paulo, Jaime
Biaggio, de O Globo, Tiago Faria, do jornal Correio Braziliense e Inácio Araújo, da
Folha de São Paulo, publicadas no período de janeiro de 2000 a dezembro de 2005.
O trabalho teve como fundamentação teórica a definição de crítica tal como
formulado por Bento Prado Junior, o conceito de esfera pública defendido por Jürgen
Habermas, o conjunto de teorias estéticas descritos por Jean-Yves Tadíe e as teorias
estéticas e semióticas formuladas por Roland Barthes e Yuri Lotman.
Metodologicamente foi feito um exame valorativo dos trabalhos críticos selecionados.
Para a determinação do corpus foi utilizado o método de amostragem proporcional
estratificada. Sua análise constituiu a identificação dos elementos estruturais do texto e
a sua relação com os aspectos gerais do discurso, além dos critérios utilizados pelos
críticos para confeccioná-los.
A análise do material permitiu-nos chegar aos seguintes resultados:
enriquecimento cultural do leitor. A hipótese com que trabalhamos é que o exame da
cobertura de cinema dos grandes jornais pode trazer chaves para a compreensão dos
processos de circulação de informações culturais e da formação do gosto do leitor, a
partir do qual se poderá chegar ao eixo central do projeto: responder se as críticas estão
preocupadas em, mais que fazer um juízo de valor sobre a obra, contribuir na formação
do espectador/ leitor
