Previous issue date: 2016-02-16 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The focus of this research was to investigate some elements that define the role of the Mediator Instructor (of conflicts) Educational and Community (PMEC), function created by the Education Department of the state of Sao Paulo (SEESP), in 2010. We seek to describe and analyze the manifestation upon how it should be and how take place the actions of those instructors. In order to do so, interviews were conducted with the instructors and the educational supervisor, as well as the evaluation of official documents that regulate and guide the activity of conflict mediation. The objective was to analyze what define and how it is the conflict mediation in the legislation and in other documents, and in the action of PMEC, describing the elements present in the conflict mediation leading to adaptation in Adorno's perspective (2006a). The hypothesis formulated was: the creation of the function of PMEC was the found strategy by SEE-SP to deal with some problematic situations in the school, looking for not solving them, but creating mechanism that enable to live with them, especially conflicts inside of school. The analysis of the documents, as well as the report of the interviewees guided by the cited author's propositions, mainly the ones that refer to the formation field, adaptation and barbarism, enabled the confirmation of the hypothesis. It was found that the mediation carried out by the PMEC is laid on the intention of the students' adaptation to the school order; and the intention is to lead the conflicts, in view of pacification / O foco desta pesquisa foi investigar alguns elementos que definem a atuação do Professor
Mediador (de conflitos) Escolar e Comunitário (PMEC), função criada pela Secretaria da
Educação do Estado de São Paulo (SEE-SP), no ano de 2010. Procurou-se descrever e
analisar as manifestações acerca de como deve ser e como acontece a ação desses professores.
Para isso foram realizadas entrevistas com os professores e supervisores de ensino, bem como
o exame de documentos oficiais que regulamentam e orientam a atividade da mediação de
conflito. O objetivo foi analisar o que define e como se constitui a mediação de conflitos na
legislação e em outros documentos, como também na ação do PMEC, descrevendo os
elementos presentes na mediação de conflitos que levam à adaptação, na perspectiva de
Adorno (2006c; 2006d). A hipótese formulada foi: a criação da função do PMEC foi a
estratégia encontrada pela SEE-SP para lidar com determinadas situações problemáticas na
escola, visando não solucioná-las, mas criar mecanismos que possibilitem a convivência com
elas, especialmente os conflitos no interior da escola. A análise dos documentos, assim como
dos relatos dos sujeitos entrevistados, pautada nas proposições do autor citado
principalmente as que se referem à formação, à adaptação e à barbárie , possibilitou a
confirmação da hipótese. Constatou-se que a mediação exercida pelos PMEC encontra-se
assentada no propósito da adaptação dos alunos à ordem escolar; e a intenção é a de conduzir
os conflitos, tendo em vista seu apaziguamento
