The aim of this survey is to examine if female leaders develop through challenges in work life. It will also examine which learning theories that can be identified when they meet challenges. The survey is written from a workplace learning perspective.This qualitative survey is based on six interviews with female leaders in various business categories and the result is analyzed with a method described in Kvale (2014). This method is based on analysis from current studies and theories.Among other things this survey reveals that female leaders develop through challenges in work life. This survey also shows that the female leaders are learning through experience and social participation. How they learn depends on which challenge they meet and their individual skills.
