O objetivo central deste estudo é reconstruir a história do processo autonomização acadêmica da Ciência Política no Rio Grande do Sul, desde a criação do Programa de Pós-Graduação até o momento atual, a partir da análise descritiva de documentos e de entrevistas com personagens centrais desse processo. Com base nesse material, defendo o argumento de que houve uma geração de cientistas políticos na UFRGS que contribuiu de maneira relevante para a autonomia acadêmica da disciplina em âmbito regional e nacional, e, concomitantemente, foi responsável pela difusão local dos paradigmas predominantes na Ciência Política norte-americana e europeia. Para evidenciar a adesão aos paradigmas, são analisadas as teses e dissertações defendidas no período de 1977 a 2014, com base em categorias que permitem sua classificação. Em termos teórico-metodológicos, essa reconstrução segue o modelo de análise da história da ciência proposto por Thomas Kuhn, que concentra seu foco na formação e nos valores da comunidade científica em torno de compromissos epistemológicos e metodológicos que compõem um paradigma de investigação. / The main objective of this study is to reconstruct the history of academic autonomization process of the Political Science discipline in Rio Grande do Sul, since the creation of the its first Graduate Program until the present time, through the descriptive analysis of documents and interviews with central actors of this process. On this basis, it is sustained the argument that there was a generation of political scientists at UFRGS who has contributed in a significant way to the academic autonomy of the discipline at the regional and national level, and, thus, concomitantly, was responsible for the local diffusion of the paradigms prevailing in North American and European Political Science. In order to demonstrate the relative adherence to each paradigm, the theses and dissertations defended in the period 1977-2014, will be are analyzed based on categories that allow their classification. In theoretical and methodological terms, that reconstruction follows the model of analysis of the history of science proposed by Thomas Kuhn, which concentrates its focus on the formation and the values of the scientific community on certain epistemological and methodological commitments that make up a research paradigm.
