Utveckling av lyftverktyg : Förebyggande av överbelastningsskador / Development of lifting tool

At workplaces where physical work is performed, there are usually tasks where suitable aids are absent, this can lead to strain or wear and tear injuries for personnel. Every year, deficient work environments cause thousands of strain injuries, many of these injuries could have been avoided if appropriate aids or tools had been available and used.  The purpose of this study has been to design a lifting tool that will enable heavy lifting in a safe manner while at the same time satisfy strict requirements of easy usage. The study has been carried out at Dustcontrol AB in Norsborg. The tasks that are to be facilitated are replacements of filters in filter cyclones where the filters can become heavy, and the working positions are far from optimal.  The work has followed the product development process until a finished design was decided. The steps that were used for structuring the work was: planning, concept development, system design and detailed design. These steps have since been supplemented with methods such as interviews, literature searches and matrices to enable substantiated decision-making that led the work forward.   A conclusion that could be established from the study is that the purpose of the study has theoretically been fulfilled. A need for a prototype can also be determined, along with thorough testing of the prototype to ensure that every part of the requirements specification has been fulfilled. A prototype could also be used to find weak points in the design and approve upon them. By using the designed lifting tool, future work injuries can hopefully be avoided.
