De ökande kraven på hållbarhet som regering, myndigheter och övriga intressenter ställer på företag har resulterat i att alla små- och medelstora företag blir tvungna att hållbarhetsrapportera till 2026. En bransch som upplever ett ökat behov av forskning för implementering av sociala hållbarhetsmål, samt arbetsprocesser för att uppnå dessa, är Medtech branschen. Även fast det finns riktlinjer för implementering av socialt hållbarhetsarbete, saknas empiriskt stöd för hur effektiva dessa är. Syftet med denna studie är att öka förståelsen för hur dynamiska förmågor för social hållbarhet kan skapas för att eftersträva sociala hållbarhetsmål. Vi vill med detta arbete även tillföra exempel och sammanställa kunskap till företag som strävar efter att implementera eller förbättra sitt sociala hållbarhetsarbete. Forskningsfrågorna som adresseras i studien är: - “Vilka sociala hållbarhetsmål kan företag inom Medtech eftersträva? - “Hur kan företag inom Medtech arbeta för att eftersträva sociala hållbarhetsmål och vilka dynamiska förmågor resulterar detta i? För att besvara forskningsfrågorna genomfördes tio intervjuer med hållbarhetskunniga på tio olika Medtech företag med verksamhet i Sverige. Resultatet visade att sociala hållbarhetsmål som företag inom Medtech kan eftersträva är: mål för förmåner, jämställdhetsmål, jämlikhetsmål, arbetsmiljömål, mål om arbetsförhållanden i leverantörskedjan, mål om donationer till hjälporganisationer och välgörenhetsinsatser. Studien visade även hur företag inom Medtech branschen kan arbeta för att eftersträva sociala hållbarhetsmål: Arbetsprocesser för förmågan att avkänna sociala hållbarhetsmål, arbetsprocesser för förmågan att fånga värdet av sociala hållbarhetsmål, arbetsprocesser för förmågan att omkonfigurera sociala hållbarhetsmål. / The increasing demands on sustainability that the government, authorities and other stakeholders place on companies have resulted in all small and medium-sized companies being forced to report on sustainability by 2026. An industry that experiences an increased need for research for the implementation of social sustainability goals, as well as work processes to achieve these, is the Medtech industry. Although there are guidelines for the implementation of social sustainability work, there is a lack of empirical support for how effective these are. The purpose of this study is to increase the understanding of how dynamic capabilities for social sustainability can be created to pursue social sustainability goals. With this work, we also want to add examples and compile knowledge to companies that strive to implement or improve their social sustainability work. The research questions addressed in the study were: - “What social sustainability goals can companies in Medtech pursue?” - “How can companies in Medtech work to pursue social sustainability goals and what dynamic capabilities does this result in?” To answer these research questions, ten interviews were conducted with sustainability experts at ten different Medtech companies with operations in Sweden. The result showed that the social sustainability goals that companies within Medtech may pursue are following: goals for benefits, gender equality goals, diversity, equity goals, work environment goals, goals for working conditions in the supply chain, goals for donations to aid organizations and charitable efforts. The study also showed how companies in the Medtech industry can work to pursue social sustainability goals: Work processes for the ability to sense social sustainability goals, work processes for the ability to capture the value of social sustainability goals, work processes for the ability to reconfigure social sustainability goals
