Previous issue date: 2004-03-23 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Esta dissertação analisa a forma como famílias, que praticam agricultura familiar, experimentam/vivenciam princípios agroecológicos de equidade nas relações de gênero. Procuramos compreender como tais famílias resignificam, reproduzem e difundem práticas e representações concernentes aos princípios agroecológicos na economia doméstica, na comunidade e nas organizações políticas e religiosas das quais participam. O espaço de investigação empírica escolhido, para esta análise, foi a zona rural de Araponga, um município da Zona da Mata de Minas Gerais, onde realizamos uma pesquisa de campo em uma comunidade denominada “Novo Horizonte”. Desenvolvimento sustentável, agroecologia e agricultura familiar formam o eixo teórico desta dissertação. A agroecologia é considerada um meio para alcançar o desenvolvimento sustentável, buscando a otimização do agrossistema como um todo, através de relações entre pessoas, culturas, solos, água e animais. O termo sugere uma interação simultânea de preservação ambiental e de promoção socioeconômica das famílias agricultoras. Preconiza-se a necessidade de inter-relação entre instâncias produtivas, ecológicas e econômicas englobadas em contexto cultural particular. A interação entre essas instâncias reconhece o lugar da família e de seu trabalho na concepção e reprodução do sistema familiar agrícola. Da mesma forma, tal interação respeita a lógica de equidade presente nos princípios de desenvolvimento sustentável. A melhoria na distribuição de oportunidades, renda ou informação dentro das famílias e comunidades rurais e concretiza-se através da experiência de equidade. / This study was carried out to analyze the ways how the families practicing the family agriculture experience /live the agroecological equity principles in the gender relationships. We tried to understand how these families re-signify, reproduce and diffuse the practices and representations concerning to the agroecological principles in the domestic economy, in the community and in the political and religious organizations they use to participate. The empiric investigation space chosen for this analysis was the Araponga rural area, a county located in Zona da Mata de Minas Gerais, where a field research was accomplished in a community so-called "Novo Horizonte". The sustainable development, agroecology and family agriculture compose the theoretical axis of this dissertation. The agroecology is considered as means to reach the sustainable development, as looking for the optimization of the agrosystem as a whole, through the relationships among people, cultures, soils, water and animals. The term suggests a simultaneous interaction of the environmental preservation and socioeconomic promotion of the farming families. The need for inter- relation among the productive, ecological and economical instances included into a particular cultural context. The interaction among these instances recognizes the position of both family and its work in the conception and reproduction of the agricultural family system. On the same way, this interaction respects the equity logic found in the sustainable development principles. The improvement in the opportunity distribution, income or information within the families and rural communities is achieved through the equity experience. / Dissertação importada do Alexandria
