It is said that concepts of organizational management can pave the way to success. This is not accurate and it is something that will be shown in the following study. Its most prominent conclusion is that the valuation governance to some extent has an impact on the formal structures, but that it had no further effects on the employee’s way of work. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the valuation governance is applied in Medley AB and the meaning of it. The study was based on a qualitative approach and six interviews with employees were conducted. The informants in the study consisted of both necessity and permanent employees as long employees with management function. The interviews were roughly 40 to 60 minutes. The study shows that Medley has taken various measures to implement valuation governance in their organization. These taken measures appear to have a limited effect and the result showed that there was no consistent organizational culture in Medley. Instead, it seemed there was talk of various subcultures that were linked to the different employment ranks. Furthermore, it seemed that the core-values did not reflect the daily work, not among the management team nor among the rest of the employees. In the discussion section of the study the result is discussed in the light of institutionalization, new institutional theory and previous research on cultural control. In conclusion, valuation governance is examined from both an internal and external organizational perspective. Suggestions for practical implications and for further research in this area are presented in the final part of the study.
