Previous issue date: 2012-02-29 / The present work aims to put into question the relations among marginalized youth, violence and gender from the stories and experiences of young women entered in the Municipal Program of Social-Educational Measures in Open (Programa Municipal
de Medidas Sócio Educativas em Meio Aberto – PEMSE), in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brazil. The interviews have been structured and have had as theoretic metodological reference the oral history and the women’s history, forms of knowledge production which gained strength primarily from the 1960s. Both oral history and women’s history recognize the importance of subjectivity of individuals,breaking with many rules of modern scientific rationality. The essay is divided into three chapters. The first one discusses the potential of working with orality and the importance of valuing women’s narrative. The second chapter presents the six stories of life which lead the research, also it contains a brief description of the institution and introduces a profile of the young people placed in the program. The third chapter is composed by an analysis of the interviews, from the perception of violence as an element inserted in the stories and reality of these young people. Violence is discussed not only in the visible extent: the practice of infraction by youth, but also as structural violence that focuses on this segment. / A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo construir um diálogo entre os temas juventude marginalizada, violência e gênero, a partir das histórias e experiências de jovens do sexo feminino inseridas no Programa Municipal de Medidas Socioeducativas em Meio Aberto (PEMSE), na cidade de Ponta Grossa, Paraná, Brasil. As entrevistas foram estruturadas e trabalhadas tendo como referencial teórico-metodológico a história oral e a história das mulheres, formas de produção do conhecimento que ganham força principalmente a partir da década de 1960. Tanto a história oral quanto a história das mulheres reconhecem a importância da subjetividade dos indivíduos, rompendo com muitos dos preceitos da racionalidade científica moderna.
O texto está estruturado em três capítulos. O primeiro capítulo discute as potencialidades do trabalho com a oralidade e a importância da valorização das narrativas femininas. O segundo capítulo apresenta as seis narrativas de vida propulsoras da pesquisa, além disso realiza breve caracterização da instituição e apresenta o perfil dos jovens inseridos no Programa PEMSE. O terceiro capítulo consiste na análise das entrevistas, a partir da percepção da violência como elemento que permeia as histórias e a realidade desta juventude. A violência é discutida não apenas em sua dimensão mais visível: a prática do ato infracional pelas jovens, mas também como violência estrutural que incide sobre este segmento.
