Previous issue date: 2015-02-25 / Introdu??o: O comprometimento da fun??o do membro superior (MS) de crian?as com Paralisia Cerebral (PC) hemipar?tica esp?stica restringe sua participa??o em atividades sociais. A realidade virtual (RV) tem demonstrado resultados promissores na recupera??o funcional dessa popula??o, todavia, poucos estudos avaliaram sua efetividade no movimento de alcance manual destas crian?as. Objetivo: Analisar os efeitos do treino com RV no movimento de alcance manual de crian?as com PC hemipar?tica esp?stica. Materiais e m?todos: Foi realizado um ensaio cl?nico randomizado cruzado, onde a amostra foi formada por 12 crian?as com diagn?stico de PC hemipar?tica, de ambos os sexos com idade m?dia de 9,63 ? 2,3 anos. A caracteriza??o da amostra foi realizada por meio da avalia??o do t?nus muscular, amplitude de movimento, for?a de preens?o manual, desempenho funcional, habilidade manual e incapacidades. A an?lise cinem?tica dos MMSS foi realizada pelo Qualisys Motion Capture System?. O protocolo do estudo consistiu em 2 dias de treinos e 1 de reavalia??o. Os treinos A (Nintendo Wii?) e B (protocolo convencional) as crian?as foram randomizadas nas sequ?ncias A-B e B-A, com intervalo de uma semana. Foi realizada avalia??o cinem?tica imediatamente pr? e p?s-treinos e ap?s uma semana. Os dados foram analisados pelo programa SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for the Social Science) atribuindo-se um n?vel de signific?ncia de 5%. As vari?veis cinem?ticas foram analisadas atrav?s da ANOVA two-way para medidas repetidas. Resultados e Discuss?o: N?o foram observadas altera??es significativas das vari?veis angulares e espa?o temporais entre os grupos. A RV utilizada na interven??o para melhorar a fun??o de MMSS em crian?as com PC continua a ser um m?todo relativamente novo. Conclus?o: O treino com RV n?o foi capaz de melhorar desempenho no alcance manual das crian?as com PC hemipar?tica esp?stica. / Introduction: The disability of upper limb function (MS) of children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) spastic hemiparetic restricts their participation in social activities. Virtual reality (VR) has shown promising results in functional recovery of this population, however, few studies have evaluated its effectiveness in the reaching of motion of these children. Objective: To assess the effects of training with RV in the movement range of children with CP spastic hemiparetic. Materials and Methods: We conducted a randomized crossover trial, where the sample consisted of 12 children diagnosed with PC hemiparetic, both genders, with a mean age of 9.63 ? 2.3 years. The sample characterization was performed by assessing muscle tone, range of motion, grip strength, functional performance, handicraft and desability. Kinematic analysis of the upper limb was performed by Qualisys Motion Capture System?. The study protocol consisted of two days of training and 1 revaluation. The training A (Nintendo Wii?) and B (standard protocol) were randomized the children in AB and BA sequences, with one week interval. Immediately kinematics pre and post-training was held and after a week. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 (Statistical Package for Social Science) assigning a 5% significance level. The kinematic variables were analyzed by two-way ANOVA for repeated measures. Results and Discussion: No significant changes were observed for the angular variables and space-time between groups. The RV used for intervention to improve upper limb function in children with CP is still a relatively new method. Conclusion: Training with RV was not able to improve the reaching performance of children with cerebral palsy spastic hemiparetic.
