Previous issue date: 2017 / The present paper seeks to analyze the narrative structure of the webseries "The Lizzie
Bennet Diaries", considered as transmedia narrative, in the context of the convergence
culture by Henry Jenkins. "The Lizzie Bennet Diaries" is a webseries adapted from Jane
Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice", written in the 17th century.
A study of narrative based on ABBOTT (2009), CAMPOS (2016), STAM (2003),
among others, was carried out to understand the particularities of each narrative element
analyzed and its relation with the paratexts, under GENETTE (2009), ALVARADO
(1994) and GRAY (2010), found in TLBD. In order to verify the functionalities of the
paratexts in the transmedia narrative, we conclude that the paratextual relations within
the adapted narrative have an essential factor that the paratext aggregates to the
transmediatic process, making clear its need to accompany the narrative, both in content
and in dissemination. / O presente trabalho busca analisar a estrutura narrativa da websérie "The Lizzie Bennet
Diaries", considerando suas características transmídiaticas e por se tratar de um produto
de entretenimento adaptado. “The Lizzie Bennet Diaries” é uma websérie adaptada do
romance britânico “Orgulho e Preconceito”, de Jane Austen, escrito no século XVII.
Um estudo de narrativa a partir de pesquisas de ABBOTT (2009), CAMPOS (2016),
STAM (2003), dentre outros, foi realizado para compreender as particularidades de
cada elemento narrativo analisado e sua relação com os paratextos, sob o olhar de
GENETTE (2009), ALVARADO (1994) e GRAY (2010), encontrados em TLBD. Com
o objetivo de verificar as funcionalidades dos paratextos na narrativa transmídia,
concluímos que as relações intertextuais dessa modalidade dentro da narrativa adaptada
têm um caráter essencial no qual o paratexto agrega ao processo transmídiatico da obra,
tornando clara sua necessidade de acompanhar a narrativa, tanto em conteúdo quanto
em processos de divulgação.
