The purpose of this study is to examine how public libraries work with Instagram, how the practical work goes when posts are formed, planned and posted. In this study, we conducted qualitative interviews at four public libraries. The interviewees selected for this survey are selected according to how much responsibility they have over the various libraries' social media. The theoretical framework is based on Shove, Pantzar and Watson's model about practice theory and Reckwitz ideas about practice theory. Our results show that the work with Instagram differs depending on the different conditions the libraries have. The results also showed that even if the libraries have the same goals with Instagram there is both differences and similarities in the way the practical work is performed. There is no right or wrong way to work with Instagram, every public library has to find its own way.
