The purpose with this research is to investigate different types of challenges a teacher may face in mathematical problem solving teaching and how the challenges can be solved. This study investigates how teachers’ percieve different types of difficulties in their teaching and how they handle them. The data collections method that was chosen for this research were nine qualitative interviews which conducted through a physical meeting with recording. The selection in the study consists of active teachers in middle school mathematics. Based on the analysis of the result; there are several different challenges a teacher may face. A special way of working has been highlighted and used by all of the teachers in the study in their problem solving teaching.
