Bakgrund: På uppdrag av regeringen har Barnombudsmannen år 2010 skrivit en rapport där syftet var att ta reda på hur placerade barn och unga upplever sin situation på HVB-hem och familjehem. De intervjuer som gjorts med flertalet ungdomar runt om i Sverige tyder på en negativ inställning till Socialtjänsten som bottnar i en oärlig kommunikation från myndighetens sida men även en missaktning från samhällets sida. Syfte: Med en utgångspunkt i de resonemang som skildras i uppsatsen går det att anta att en placering till stor del har en stark inverkan på den unge på olika vis, samt att det är många aspekter som ska samspela för att vårdformen ska vara den bästa för individen. Uppsatsens syfte är att lyfta fram och synliggöra vilken påverkan och betydelse vården kan ha för den unge under och på vägen ut från en placering samt på vilket sätt. Jag vill även skapa en förståelse för hur det påverkar dennes motivation till en strävan att vilja lämna vården. Metod: Studien baseras på kvalitativ metod med en central utgångspunkt i hermeneutiken, men utgår även till viss del från den narrativa metoden med angreppssättet livsberättelser. Studiens empiri har samlats in genom kvalitativa intervjuer med två personal i deras yrkesroll samt genom livsberättelser med två ungdomar som båda blivit omhändertagna och haft vård med stöd av LVU. Teori: De begrepp som studien lyfter fram är den signifikante andre, livsstilar och livsplanering, den totala institutionen samt disciplin och normalisering. Dessa begrepp har använts som vitala verktyg i framställningen av analyseringen av empirin samt således i besvarandet av studiens syfte och frågeställningar. Resultat: Resultatet visar att såväl ungdomarna och personal upplever bemötandet i samarbetet som den centrala delen i en gemensam strävan mot en avslutad vårdperiod. Resultatet visar även att beroende på vilken vårdinsatsen var så präglades ungdomarnas inställning under deras förändringsprocess. / Background: On behalf of the Government's in Sweden, the Ombudsman for Children in 2010 wrote a report where the aim was to find out how placed children perceive their situation at HVB-homes and foster homes. The interviews with several young people around Sweden indicate towards a negative attitude against the social services rooted in a non-honest communication. The children also feel that society betrays them. Purpose: Based on the reasoning outlined in the essay one can assume that the social service intervention has a strong impact on children and that there are many aspects that must interact in order for the intervention to be the best for the individual. This essay seeks to highlight the impact and importance that health care can have on the children and in what different ways. The essay also seeks for an understanding of how the impact affects the individual and his motivation to want to leave the care. Methodology: The study is based on qualitative methodology with a central starting point of hermeneutics, but also narrative method and life stories. The empirical material was gathered through interviews with two people through their professional roles in social services and foster homes, and two young people's life stories about their own experiences. Theory: The terms in the study are the significant other, the choice of lifestyles and life-planning, the total institution, discipline and normalization. Those terms have been used as vital tools in analyzing the empirical and answering the purpose with the essay. Results: The result shows that all interviewees feel that the hospitality in the cooperation is important in order to create a mutual safety and trust in the relationship. The result also shows that depending on the health care effort, it characterized the young people's attitude during their process of change.
